top-posts-mommy-shorts-2014

It’s December 30th at 11:15pm and I can think of no better way to spend New Year’s Eve Eve than by curling up in bed and watching the first five minutes of Blacklist (my new favorite show to binge watch on Netflix) before falling asleep.

But instead, I am going to write a top ten twelve list of the most popular Mommy Shorts posts in 2014, because THAT IS WHAT BLOGGERS DO.

We brag about the posts that people liked and link to each of them in case you want to read them again, in case that wasn’t clear.

Interestingly, Google Analytics tells me my three most popular posts this year were not actually written this year.

For instance, the most trafficked post in 2014 was “Porn for Moms of Toddlers” written in February 2012.

I guess hot guys offering to make a diaper run and and putting together IKEA furniture never gets old.

The second most popular post in 2014 was “28 Examples of Crap Husbands Pull While Their Wives are in Labor” written in May 2013. With 267 comments and counting, that post has now become the go-to place for moms harboring decades old delivery room resentment to come and vent.

Also breaking the top ten are “The Most Inappropriate of Inappropriate Elf“…

…and “The Funniest Baby Memes all in One Place” both written in 2013.

After all that fun stuff, the surprise #1 hit of 2014 was a little post I wrote about not judging me for letting my baby use the stairs on her own.

#1. The Benefit of Lazy Parenting

Thank you to everyone who followed my blog this year, both the loyal readers who have been with me since the beginning and the newer fans who just started following. I’m glad we all found each other. I don’t know what I did to deserve such a smart, funny, and openminded audience.

As most of you know, this year was a big for me. We bought a house, Mazzy started kindergarten and I left my job to pursue my blog full-time. I have to thank my husband who encouraged me to make the career switch, Cara and Abby who are now part of the Mommy Shorts team and all the brands that supported me this year. I can now say I both write a blog and run a business, and I’m crossing my fingers that 2015 brings as many good things and opportunities as 2014.

I hope that for everyone.

Happy New Year all!

XO, Mommy Shorts
