Giveaway: $500 AmEx Gift Card & Year’s Supply of Boogie Wipes
On December 24th this year, I am packing up my Jewish family and taking them to Poppy and Nonna’s house in Rhode Island for their very first Christmas.
Poppy, aka “my father”, has been trying to establish a holiday with the family for years. When my parents got separated, back when I was ten years old, it was written into the divorce settlement that holidays would be spent with my mother (aka Grammy, but not Grammy at the time for obvious reasons.) My sister and I didn’t think much of it growing up and our traditions carried into adulthood, which means that even now, we spend holidays with our mom.
A few years ago, my dad mentioned something to my sister and me about spending Thanksgiving with him that year and we reacted like this was the most ludicrous thing we had ever heard.
“We can’t NOT spend Thanksgiving with MOM!”
“You don’t even care about the holidays, Dad.”
I will never forget the look on my dad’s face. It was at that moment I realized the reason my dad never seemed to celebrate the holidays was because he couldn’t celebrate them with his kids.
For a few years after that, we tried to establish fake holidays that we would spend with my father. “Liar’s Day” was a celebration that took place on March 6th, the day my dad thought was his birthday for most of his life, until his mother broke the news to him that he was actually born on May 6th and she had lied so he could make the kindergarten cut-off. “Status Day” was a celebration that took place on October 29th, the date my brother-in-law’s parents engraved on the back of his fancy new watch which had no significance whatsoever except that was the date they bought the watch. FYI- “Status Day” is a fabulous holiday where you go out to a really expensive restaurant and buy your loved one the cheapest item you can find from an obnoxiously upscale brand. Like a Gucci pair of socks or a Prada shower cap.
But none of these holidays really stuck with my father.
Then this year, my dad invited us up to their house in Rhode Island for Christmas. Nonna (my stepmother) is Catholic and celebrates Christmas as most people do— with a tree, Christmas Eve Dinner, stockings hung on the mantle, etc. He said the kids could help decorate a smaller kid’s tree the night before, we could do the whole cookies and milk thing for Santa and open presents the next morning.
“Oh my god, DAD! This is it! Why didn’t we think of this before? YOU CAN HAVE CHRISTMAS!!!!!!”
So. Now I am tasked with not only buying Hanukah and Christmas presents, I also need to buy stocking stuffers. I HAVE NEVER HAD TO BUY STOCKING STUFFERS BEFORE. It is the most exciting thing ever.
In partnership with Boogies Wipes, I have put together my “#1 Picks” for stocking stuffers. You know, since they are the experts on all things stuffed and picked. If you don’t see the wordplay there, your children stick their fingers up their stuffed noses to pick out their boogers far less than mine do.
To make it even more fun— if you tell me your #1 Stocking Stuffer Pick in the comment section below, you could win a $500 American Express gift card and a year’s supply of Boogie Wipes! (I’m really having a lot of awesome holiday giveaways, aren’t I???)

A chocolate orange! Every single year I wished for a chocolate orange in my stocking, and every single year I did not get one, but my brother did! What?! When I brought this up to my parents they told me they just never thought of buying me one, therefore I got a real orange. Uh. Anyway. You can totally tell I’m not still bitter about it. So now I give a chocolate orange in my husband’s stocking and will be doing it with my daughter as well.
My top pick is the Ty Beanie Boos for my girls. I used to think stocking stuffers were dumb until I had kids and we decided on the four present rule. Stockings are a fantastic way to squeeze in extra presents 🙂
ChapStick, gum, and beef jerky are our favorites.

I pinned Mazzy’s because those ideas are very similar to what the girls like.
I alway give some kind of candy…my favorite it Reese’s Trees
I tweeted but couldn’t fit Boogie Wipes Twitter handle in one tweet so I tweeted twice!
I also have subscribed to your daily newsletter!
#1 stocking stuffer = Godiva chocolates
So this pretty well defeats the purpose. Boogie wipes are like $6 for a pack of 30 aroun us, at walmart even! I found packs of 10 for $1 at the dollar tree! Yay. I figure all who enter must use them and would want them cheaper. I didnt read the whole post or any comments so someone may have already brought light to this.
#1 stocking stuffer for my husband is scratch off lotto tickets. Every year my dad goes to the same gas station and buys one of every single scratch off. In all of my 29 Christmases, we have only every won more money than he paid ONE time. My husband is new to the tradition but he just goes nuts for scratch offs.
#1 stocking stuffer for me is orange tic tacs. When I was a little kid, I always told Santa the only thing I wanted was orange tic tacs so I still get them in my stocking every year. Thanks mom 🙂
My favorite childhood stocking gift was a red timex. I love filling my kids stocking I do themes for each one with band aids, chap stick, socks, puzzle books ect. Have so much fun filling the stockings it’s the best!
I love that Love ring! I am still thinking what to put in my boys’ stocking!!
I would ask for memory cards, camera batteries…and photography gadgets! Your lists look great! Enjoy your first Christmas!

Frozen band aids. Nothing to discuss.
those dinasoure crayons are so cute! I need to return the crayolas with a dinasour on them I got at target. Those are way cooler!
we also do the staples…a clementine, chocolate santa, candy cane, gum, etc.. i like to do new toothbrushes every year. ..that way we’re set with a few to change out during the year! 🙂
My number 1 is Chapstick or other lip balm. Also crayons, shampoo, bandaids, toothbrush, all the boring practical stuff, plus small blocks.

Oooh, I want almost everything on Ilana’s list! But especially the tripod and the fingerless mittens. And I LOVE the harmonica idea for a toddler!
I got some superhero electric toothbrushes for my girls this year that I am pretty excited about – because I know they will be! And our dentist will be thrilled 🙂

One of this chocolate oranges that comes apart in slices fills out the toe of the stocking perfectly!
#1 stocking stuffer would have to be the frozen Band-Aids.
I usually do practical things in the stockings such as Chapstick, a new toothbrush, lip gloss, nail polish, gift cards, bath toys…. Make it fun! Hope ya’ll have fun for your First Christmas!! Safe travels
CUBEBOT! My kids love these things! http://www.amazon.com/Micro-Cubebot-Teaser-Puzzle-Natural/dp/B00AKELEJM/ref=sr_1_2?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1418097219&sr=1-2&keywords=micro+cubebot
I would say Chapstick is number one. My son loves it so much, he eats it :/
Stocking stuffers in my family always air on the practical, so I have to go with the Frozen Bandaids!

The fingerless mittens are really cute!
I like candy in my stocking! I tend to get practical things for my husband and kids- toothbrushes, razors, and body wash.
I’m with Mazzy…you can never, ever go wrong with lip balm, and eos is the best!! Enjoy your first holiday!
sonicare toothbrush replacement heads! Hubbers and I always get those for each other’s stockings. And everyone gets some lottery tickets
I have to go with bubble guppies bath toys because before yesterday, I didn’t know what they were. I have 14 month old ID twin girls and I bought an episode for an upcoming Christmas flight. My husband was not nearby when I purchased on Apple TV, and when he saw the purchase confirmation some through his email, he changed his account password assuming it had been hacked! There is a steep learning curve for us new parents!
Thanks for the list! We need ideas for our little girls!

My #1 stocking stuffers for my 3 young boys are character band aids and toothbrushes. I never buy character things like that, so they get so excited.
Love the emergency clown nose! Ha.
The paw patrol characters because my son is currently obsessed with them! He already memorized all the characters and the theme song.

Toddler tooth brushes and toothpaste are a must have!
Chapstick is the best stocking stuffer. I love Burt’s Bees original chapstick best.
I subscribe to you!
A toothbrush is always my go to stocking stuffer.
We always get the same items in our stockings, plus a few little gifts. The standard items are: a tangerine, nuts in their shells, chapstick, lotto tickets (adults only), perfume (adults only), a movie ticket, a candy cane, some candy, and a small box of cereal. The rule growing up was that you had to eat your mini box of cereal before you could eat any candy.
Pinned to my holiday cheer board!
Tweeted but had to cut out a few words because it didn’t all fit. @Agape_Loves

My 21 month old is really into stickers right now, mostly just to decorate her parents and grandparents. So a really easy and cheap stocking stuffer is a bunch of stickers that will thrill her. I love to see my husband plastered in funny, girly stickers so bonus for me!
My mom has always put a pair of quirky earrings that remind her of me in my stocking (I think they were stick-on and clip-ons before I had them pierced, but I don’t think I ever didn’t get them)! That’s my #1 stocking stuffer.
Silly putty and chocolate oranges are also good!
I’m cracking up because when I saw those frozen band aids on Google express I immedia bought them for Chanukah presents! I also found a 6 pack of Sofia the First tissues in the dollar section at Target!
Loved you ideas, stocking are the best! I found Lisa Frank Stickers and pencils for my 2 year old! (Or more of myself) 🙂
The diamond love ring is my favorite stocking stuffer.
I am a subscriber for Mommy Shorts emails.
really??? diamond love ring??? OK, Jewish mom, we need to work a little on the stockings stuffer concept :). for adults it’s supposed to be a cheesy cheap gift. like horribly hand knitted mits , antidepressives or/and minibar bottles :)))) but i do love how you interpret the concept :)))
Anything from the target dollar section. Lots of cheap and fun stuff there!
My favorite stocking stuffer is the EF COLLECTION
DIAMOND LOVE RING!!! <3 I also PINNED Harlow's list and TWEETED, but had to edit down your tweet because it was over 140 characters! Thanks for the awesome giveaway and always brightening my day! Good luck everyone!
I love Anna and Elsa plush dolls for my stocking stuffers. Both my girls are obsessed and these dolls peek out just enough so you see their heads when in the stocking is stuffed!
Art Supplies, candy and lip balm!
Boring as it may be, socks, underwear, soap, toothbrush, etc are my stocking stuffers. But a few years back I did start adding lottery tickets to the mix!
I’d “love” that love ring in my stocking! Babiators are an awesome choice for the kiddies!
I bought the best stocking stuffer for my husband this year:the wallet ninja. It’s shaped like a credit card and has 18 tools on it!
Candy is definitely my favorite stocking stuffer! Anything peppermint!!
Favorite stocking stuffer is candy- specifically Reese’s peanut butter cups!

Gift cards!!
pinned it, too!
Just like another commenter’s kids, my son is another kid who is really into hand sanitizer. He can spend about 30 minutes opening and closing it and smelling it. So that would be my number one stocking stuffer if I stuffed stockings.
pinned it!
I love a good marshmallow santa!!
My husband did stockings totally differently then my family where stockings included candy, a fun hair tie, new socks, an ornament (mine are always shoes), pretty smelling soap, a new chapstick or nail polish. He thought we were trying to tell him something that first Christmas lol.

I always get a new ornament for my kids for one of their stocking stuffers. My son especially loves them, his 2 year old sister has yet to appreciate the new ornaments 🙂
Pinned! Your ideas for Harlow gave me some great ideas for my 2 year old!

For my son’s stocking, the frozen band aids would be awesome. Once a bandaid is on he won’t take it off and my husband HATES “Frozen” so hey, I get to please my son and tease my husband at the same time. 🙂 For me, I am SO digging the coal gum balls. My mom always told me I would get a lump of coal in my stocking. Now I can get it and say it was just what I wanted. 🙂
I’m a subscriber. I dont do Twitter. I know, I need to get up to date.
My favorite thing to find in my stocking is a retractable tape measure, like this: http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/60-owl-tape-measure-1014471/
I’m giving them to my mom and sister this year, too.
RAZOR BLADE CARTRIDGES FOR MY HUBBY!
DOG BONES FOR MY PUPPY!
And I pinned Mazzy’s list to my Pinterest Christmas board for ideas for my 2-year-old daughter. 🙂
I have gotten a 3 pack of EOS lip balm for my daughter’s stocking for the past couple of years. I’m thinking maybe Jamberry nail wraps this year.
It was too hard to chose an absolute favorite, so I hope you don’t mind that I picked a fave from each person’s stocking! Mazzy: Go Fish. Harlow: Dino crayons. Ilana’s: iPhone Tripod. Mike: Bacon candy.
You have to put Candy Canes and an orange in the stocking. The orange takes up a lot of room in the bottom! 😉
I would choose the dinosaur crayons!
Pinned it!
And my #1 stocking stuffer is all the little things in the target $1 section they have Sophia the first frozen Mickey mouse and Minnie mouse jake and the never land pirates socks mini coloring books with crayons board books it’s cheap Disney and there’s something for everyone
My #1 from your list is the dry bar gift card. We don’t have one here but my hair is curly. I’d like a professional blow out someday. For my boys, I want to get some color changing Glux putty.
