Insta2yearold has had many up and downs this year, not unlike most two-year-olds you know. There was the joy of bouncy castles mixed with the horror of vegetables. It can make for a very mixed year end review.
Most recently, Insta2yearold had a massive identity crisis due to the fact that she turned three. Getting old is tough for everyone, even toddlers. I don’t think she’s quite recovered yet (as made evident by her refusal to potty train) but I have a positive forecast for her in 2016.
Let’s take a look back at Insta2yearold’s 20 most popular Instagrams in 2015 to see where she’s been, what she’s accomplished and predict what she might be up to next.
#20. She ate pancakes.
#19. She went pumpkin picking.
#18. She saw Frozen on Ice.
#17. She went to Vermont for a family ski trip.
#16. She stayed up past her bedtime.
#15. She saved water.
#14. She had a check-up at the pediatrician.
#13. She played hide and seek with her big sister.
#12. She went to the beach.
#11. She ate lunch.
#10. She watched a movie.
#9. She played in the snow.
#8. She reached 100K followers on Instagram.
#7. She coveted her mom’s coffee.
#6. She drew a picture.
#5. She was meticulous with her toys.
#4. She helped her mom clean the floor.
#3. She celebrated a very important supreme court decision.
#2. She ate a banana.
#1. She prayed for Paris.
If you are not following Insta2yearold on Instagram already, you can do so here. Since she just turned three, like most three-year-olds, I bet she will have even more to say in 2016.
Awwwwww… it’s been such a sweet year! You’ve not told us if Harlow is going to graduate to Insta3yearold or not though…
I don’t even have a Snapchat account… haha! I would perhaps watch stores on Instagram but usually don’t because I am most often scrolling through social media as my little one nurses to sleep.
I don’t love insta stories. I follow way too many people on IG to keep up with them, snap story is my favorite . I enjoy the daily day-in-the life snaps. ?
I like Instagram stories a lot but typically only view select people I follow (you and insta2yearold included of course!). I can’t compare to snapchat bc I don’t use it (fb and Instagram are enough for me to keep up with…)
I love your stories, your humor comes through even in video 🙂
I’m not a fan of the insta stories but they aren’t the worst thing instagram has done. (That would be wjen they decided to make it so you only see posts of people you interact with instead of all posts in chronological order) I’m all about #teamsnapchat
Not really a fan. I watch the stories occasionally but always prefer snapchat. I’m a old school Instagram fan I guess!
I just joined snapchat so I’m still figuring it out but I definitely like snapchat more so far. I definitely don’t like how one person just blends into the next.
I watch the Instagram stories but I like Snapchat more. It’s always fun to see the girls but I really like seeing all the places you go.
I know you can be overwhelmed and you can be underwhelmed but can you ever just be whelmed? (Name that movie). Well that’s how I feel about Instagram stories…
I haven’t been watching Instagram stories, but I’m open to them. I pretty much only have Snapchat to check out your updates!
I am not too fond of instastories. I have problems loading the stories. I like snapchat better. It is nice having the stories in one app though with instagram.
I unfortunately don’t watch insta stories. 9 out of 10 times, it’s the exact same story that’s on snapchat. Plus snapchat has filters to make stories more interesting! ?
I watched a couple of the instagram ones but I like your snapchats better. Not really sure why but i like the behind the scenes and seeing what you do everyday. Harlow and Mazzy are adorable but sometimes their mask videos get a little repetititve.
I’m not a big fan. I liked the old-school Instagram better. Not really liking the new stuff.
I prefer snapchat stories. It’s what it’s made for and more fun imo.
Definitely still like Snapchat way more! The Insta stories are the last thing I look at each day, and only if I’m procrastinating going to sleep.
I don’t watch any social media that’s video. I have zero time or patience for that. Plus, if the kid heard it, she immediately wants to watch, too.
I don’t have a Snapchat account so can’t compare the two. But I really enjoy your Instagram stories!
I think that Instageam stories are really unnecessary. I definitely prefer Snapchat more and still. Usually when something new is introduced on Instagram or Facebook I get used to it and start to really like it, but the last couple of changes that Instagram has made I still don’t like and it’s actually making me like the app even less. I like that you do highlights of your Snapchat stories on Instagram but that you do less of them.
Insta stories are okay, but it seems like they could have come up with an original idea! Still follow all of your stuff though!
I do not watch Instagram stories that much. Mostly just insta2yearold. I love you on snapchat and watch it every day.
I do not really watch the Instagram
Stories or snapchat for that matter. I do my social media stalking with the few spare minutes when the kids are playing nicely or snacking and sound attracts them to my phone so printed word is better for me.
I don’t watch the Instagram stories, because they always freeze up for me halfway through. Snapchat still works though. 🙂
I hate the Instagram stories. I’d much rather use snapchat for those!
I think insta stories are alright, they’ll never be snapchat with the fun filters and goofy voice changing fun…but for an exact play by play of a moment they work I guess. I’ll stick to snapchat for my video updates though.
I prefer snapchat over instastories; however I will watch them if I am bored & nothing new is on snapchat. I like Instagram for the pictures & snapchat for the videos. I live in a fairly small town in South Dakota, so it is fun to watch life with kids in a very different setting then myself.
I don’t like the Insta stories at all. I follow so many people on Instagram so it’s hard to filter through and see who I want to watch but I do watch a few. I just don’t like the setup at all. I was leary to download Snapchat at all but I was glad that I did. It’s simpler and has cooler features.
I prefer snapchat and I’m not really sure what could be done to differentiate. Maybe Instagram could be used for things like Harlow cooking demos and singing so it’s a little more special.
I love love love your Instagram. I’m not super down with the insta-stories yet, but really all I want to see is Harlow singing and dancing. My girls love to watch her and it’s one of my favorite things to do with them. They get such a kick out of it!
Im on an Instagram “break” and I don’t have a snapchat account ???
I like snap chat lots better
I like the instastories. Not fond of Snapchat.
I prefer snapchat!!
I like getting emails and following Facebook posts, and I don’t use Instagram or Snapchat. That’s mostly because I don’t have enough space on my phone memory to have multiple apps, probably because I have too many pictures and videos of my kids doing silly things. Plus, if I delete GoogleEarth, which is what is taking up the most space, my five year old would throw a hissy fit!
I much prefer snapchat. For some reason my Instagram stories take way longer to load and sometimes don’t load at all. That never happens on snapchat. Snapchat FTW!
I’ve messed around with Snapchat a little for professional purposes (really! I do social media as part of my job), but haven’t really gotten into it. I like the pretty pictures on Instagram – I’m not on there constantly enough to have really followed the Instastories.
I love the quick scroll through Instagram as opposed to SnapChat – which also requires more data and battery life to open. However, I’m sometimes disappointed with Instagram failing to maintain chronological order and fear I may miss posts! I LOVE the email newsletters and Facebook over all other methods of contact, and I’m especially loving this swag bag! Keep it up!!!
I love watching you and girls on snapchat. Now with the insta stories it’s just too overwhelming. It’s too hard to keep up with everything.
I watch a few specific instagram stories (including yours ?). Honestly though I like snapchat better because I am more used to it. I love watching Harlow on your stories and snapchat! Shes too adorable and I cant stop listening to her chipmunk voice!
I really want to love Instagram stories because of the amazing filters, but so far I haven’t had too much interest in it. I am definitely staying loyal to Snapchat for now, especially when it comes to viewing your story. I’ve introduced my whole family to your accounts, and they love them all!
I prefer instagram because I know how to use it 😀 I don’t really know how snapchat works and best of all, I don’t even intend to find out :)))) I’m way to old for this….
I like the IG stories. But I just joined snap chat and don’t really get it, I think I’m too old.
So, I’m old and don’t have Instagram or snapchat! I can barely handle Facebook, my brain might explode if I have one more thing to get addicted to! But I love you on Facebook. ?
I much prefer snapchat! Something about the instastories feels… off. Plus lots of people are just repeating snap chat stuff on Instagram so you end up seeing the same stuff twice! Plus snapchat has the good filters! Is it weird that I’ll be happy when your kids are back in school so I can live vicariously through Harlow’s muffin eating?
I prefer snap chat. Insta stories are okay, but snap chat is so much more candid. I’ve enjoyed insta 2 year olds insta stories though 🙂 super cute and unique!
Cute post, i remember this one! I love checking your instagram accounts, but I’m just not into watching instagram stories. Occasionally I’ll check it out. But very rare. I check snapchat everyday, multiple times a day. I only use snapchat throughout the day, just can’t get into instagram stories. I’d love to see more of the kids cooking/baking! I adore watching all of you on there, though!
I prefer Instagram because I don’t have to figure out all the people I follow and their different screen names. The snapchat filters are fun though.
I do not use snapchat.. enjoying install stories..
I’m yet to post my first insta story,, that is if I ever post one. I don’t object the addition of this new feature,, nor do I feel anger at it. I love snapchat,, specialy your snapchat,, and I love to post snaps,, of course I have like zero followers and the most views I ever get on there are LITERALLY 3… sooo,, maybbe I should test my luck with the insta stories?? I don’t know… I really don’t know how to feel about talking t a camera or possing for a temporary photo without a filter,, so there’s that.
and as far as what I would like to see on the insta stories of our multiple accounts,, well… I just don’t wannt to see there stuff that I’m eventuallt going to see on snapchatnn and the reason why is because I so deeply enjoy not checking snapchat all day long and then waiting til about midnight and watch your whole day as a mini documentary… I just love it,, and previously seeing bits of that content on insta stories (which I do check throughout the day) feels like,, well… a SPOILER!! lol
wish me luck with the swag bag,, and if anyone is reading and wish to follow me on snapchat my user is claudii265 *disclaimer,, my life isnt nearly as interesting as Ilana’s*
I really like InstaStories – because I really hate Snapchat. I just love the simplicity of it! (I’m also notorious for accidentally deleting my snaps, so that makes me mad and for whatever reason I don’t do that with InstaStories… weird, but the truth.) I still like to watch both, probably equally, and I love getting little glimpses into your life with Mazzy & Harlow!
So I will watch Instagram stories if I’ve hit the end of my timeline but that usually ends quickly because the way Instagram stories and snapchat loads is different. If a snapchat story hasn’t loaded, you tap and it loads the whole story so you can tap through it at your own pace. Instagram stories load between “snaps” so if you are in shitty service area then a video may get stuck and if you’re like me and like flipping quickly through pics, you tap through and then realize the next is a continuation of the video you just tapped through thinking it was a picture and have to start over. Soooo… I like snapchat better 😛
Omg!! Thank you! I didn’t realize that was the reason insta stories was so slow and tedious to watch!!
I hate insta stories. Or at least I do when I actually try to view them. Snapchat for life!
I love Snapchat for the day-to-day stuff and Instagram for the carefully edited sweetness.
I like both! I’m currently up all night nursing a 2 week old, and love the middle of the night distraction of both instastories and snapchat. I like the Instagram stories more for my family and friends, and snapchat more for celebrities in general though. Insta seems a little more personal, where as snapchat can be more “entertaining.”
I haven’t even been able to see insta stories- I must be doing something wrong- or I haven’t updated my instagram app in a while so maybe I just don’t have it yet. Regardless I see you all on Snapchat all the time- Snapchat is just so easy!
I don’t have snap chat, so I can’t speak to that at all, but I’m not so sure about Instagram stories. I’ve only watched one since they’ve been introduced, but I definitely liked Instagram before all these changes.
I watch instastories maybe once every couple days. I can never get it to load when it’s videos. I like all the filters and different things you can do on snapchat. I been following the you for about a year there and I don’t always catch the instastories except your 2 year old account. I honestly think they were trying to hard with the Instastories
Not a huge fan of Instagram stories. I love watching your snapchat though!
I love your blog and keep up with Mazzy and Harlow there, with an occasional peek at Instagram!
I still prefer snapchat! I check insta stories here and there, but they seem to always have a delay and that bugs me when i need to wait for the buffering. It feels like snapchat is just more fluid and natural. As always, the sequal didnt live up the original 😉
I like snapchat for stories Instagram for pretty pictures (like the old days!)
I often forget to check Instagram stories and which I do, I’m not as interested. Plus it takes a long time to load.
I don’t have a Snapchat account, so I really can’t compare the two. But I do watch some instagram stories, and enjoy them.
I like Instagram better…I never really got into snapchat. I love seeing pictures and stories about Your girls..they are adorable!
I don’t care for instastories. I love watching your snaps! Excited for your book to come out. I wish i could think of more I want to see buuuuuut we see pretty much what you do all day and your kids!
Although I have Instagram and I follow your account, I rarely open the application. I do enjoy them when you post something here. Maybe automatically repost them on FB?
Not on Instagram
yeah, well i never really got into snapchat. so it s instagram for me. and i do enjoy your whitty funny posts all the time 🙂
I am relatively new to snapchat, but I’d rather watch the “stories” there and leave Instagram the way it was. I skip watching the Instagram stories for the most part.
Not a fan of the Instagram stories! I don’t really watch them. Snapchat is my thing!
I turned 40 this year and I feel like I finally understand my older friends who just don’t seem to have the bandwidth to keep up with every social media option out there. I tried snap chat. I did. I have one friend on it and I just didn’t “get it.” It was also so very cumbersome to figure out. I have enjoyed instagram and Facebook. I know this is the result of where I am in life. Most of the time I’m looking at all the pretty pictures and funny posts when I have my kid attached to my boob. I can’t remember the last time I listened to the sound of a video. I love your feeds though. They help me know we’re right in line with the normal ridiculousness of raising a human. Thank you for that.
I don’t care much for the Instagram stories, but I don’t watch snaps often either. I scroll through pictures quickly and that’s what I like about Instagram. Plus I’m usually only looking at either app in the dark while I’m waiting for the little ones to fall asleep. 😉
I like snapchat better. I feel like the quality of the videos are much better although I do watch your Instagram ones and they are adorable.
I’ve been watching the Instagram stories but I’m not really impressed by them. I don’t have snapchat though so I don’t know how they compare. I do like seeing your stories. It’s fun to see a glimpse into someone else’s life with 2 little ones.
I don’t have a snap chat account. I like all the features on instagram but I tend to “binge scroll” every couple of days. I enjoy seeing what you guys are up to and, honestly, how you raise little kids in a city like NYC.
I do t have a snapchat account so am partial to Instagram movies.
I do not use snapchat so I was thrilled when you started using Instagram stories. I like the behind the scenes moments. 🙂
Although I love Instagram, I haven’t really watched many instastories. I Prefer Snapchat for the storyline type of pictures.
I’m on the fence. I’m a snapchat girl because I love the filters. Also I don’t follows to many people. ( I do follow you!) but Instagram is kinda of nice because there are serveral people I follow that watching there insta story is fun. But I hate how all the stories are always visible on the top. I feel if I want to see it I should be able to click on an icon similar to the explore magnifying glass to see all the stories.
I feel you should stick with what you have. Too many social media sites can become too much but than again if you don’t have or do snapchat than insta story is perfect.
I’d much rather snapchat!
I follow you on both Snapchat and Instagram. I prefer snapchat I never really got into Instagram no reason really just picked one and went with it.
I like Instagram to scroll through the pictures and videos but find myself not watching the Instagram stories, I prefer them on snapchat.
I really don’t use snapchat and mostly just scroll through Instagram and don’t really watch the stories!
I really don’t use snapchat and mostly just scroll through Instagram for the pictures and don’t really watch the stories!
I don’t have a snapchat account and haven’t viewed an instastory yet. Clearly I’m missing out 🙂
I never joined snapchat, so I did feel like I was missing out on your videos. But I’m not sure I love Instagram stories, either, because they don’t appear in my feed, so I feel like I have to go looking for videos I want to watch, and I don’t often take the time to do it.
Definitely like Snapchat better! I only occasionally watch Instastories.
I’m not a huge fan of snapchat, but I love seeing what Harlow is up to on Instagram.
You’re Instagram stories are so cute. This is actually the first time that I had seen them. Great work!
I like instastories because I don’t use snapchat.
I agree I only use instagram. The pictures always draw me into the story! Love true to life stories and support as a mom.
I’m an Instagram Stories lurker. I don’t have time for another social channel! Snapchat all the way.
I use snapchat to bug my hubby and Insta to update fam and friends. I think the both serve a useful purpose.
I’m not on snapchat and I’m loving the new instastories. I enjoy little clips of people’s children being silly and travel scenery videos. Can’t wait to see what insta3yearold is up to this year!
I absolutely prefer snapchat to insta stories! I follow more people on Instagram so there are just so. Many. Stories. I barely watch them. Although I love watching your cute girls!
Snapchat is just one more thing for me. I like Instagram better.
I honestly don’t get insta stories. I see it at the top of the feed but I’d almost rather it mixed in. I still haven’t really adopted snap chat. I’m already on my phone too much addicted to social media so I figure I should limit myself to Facebook and Instagram and spending time with my kids.
I still haven’t joined Snapchat (but if I ever do, you would be a main reason!). I follow all your accounts on Instagram, but I haven’t really checked out Instagram stories yet. But I am super excited to get my free mug from preordering your book!
I don’t understand SnapChat or Instagram stories!
That’s how I feel too! I have enough trouble focusing now without more social media distractions!
Sorry for the double comment. Was trying to reply to someone else’s comment!
I don’t get it. Why not just post those pics and videos the old way in instagram. But maybe I’m just old.
