This week’s kid news involves a parking ticket, a royal, a beatboxer, and a new celebrity baby who survived her first parenting mistake (I’m looking at you, Ryan Reynolds!).
1. Three-year-old Declan tramley Gets His First Parking Ticket
Canadian Declan Tramley probably wasn’t expecting to have a run-in with the law when he left his toy motorcycle in a ‘No Parking’ zone on Halifax Pier last weekend, but that just goes to show what happens when you don’t pick up your toys, kids.
2. Princess Charlotte almost trips on her christening gown
The royals took the news outlets by storm again this week when they all showed up looking stunning at the christening of two-month-old Princess Charlotte. Yeah, Duchess Kate looked fierce in her fascinator (new word I just learned— it’s her fancy hat!), but all eyes were on Princess Charlotte wearing a replica of a royal christening gown made in 1841, that was approximately 10X her length. Thank god she didn’t have walk up there herself!

3. Unborn Cousins Fated to have Joint Birthday Parties for the Rest of their Lives
When Jon Murray and his wife Danielle found out they were pregnant at the same time as Jon’s brother Aaron and his wife Liz, they decided to make a joint pregnancy announcement for both kids. And by pregnancy announcement, I mean a music video parody of “Shut Up and Dance”.
Is there any other kind??
4. Mayhem Gets Her Very Own Barbie
The girl who makes paper dresses continues to shock and astound by taking over not just Instagram, but the ENTIRE WORLD. First she got a dress collection at J.Crew and now she gets her very own Barbie. And no, I don’t mean her mom purchased a Barbie for her, like regular kids. Mayhem was MADE INTO A BARBIE, setting new personal goals for five-year-olds all across the country.
5. Baby James Falls Victim to Baby Wearing Snafu
Blake Lively innocently posted a cute pic of her husband, Ryan Reynolds, doing some baby-wearing. And then the comment section of her IG exploded because poor Baby James was clearly not secured in the carrier properly. Ryan addressed his parenting malfunction on The Today Show by saying, “I’m a first-time dad, and that is not the first mistake I’ve made. I can guarantee you it won’t be last.”
Baby James seems okay and knows a little bit earlier than most, her parents aren’t perfect. Sorry, kid.
Nicole Paris had a beatboxing re-match with her dad and it’s clear the apprentice has become the master. Only a parent could look so proud and delighted while getting his ASS KICKED.
Also, WOW. If Nicole competed against Heavenly Joy on America’s Got Talent (another kid in the news this week), I really don’t know who would win.
7. Harlow put on her own shoes
Two and a half-year-old Harlow wowed her mom this week and stunned her big sister when she put on her own shoes. She did the velcro tabs herself and everything. Her mom commemorated the event by posting a pic of her shoe-wearing savant on Instagram holding a “Picture Me Proud” card. She asked her followers to tell them what new thing their kids did that day prompting 564 responses and counting.

That is actually a picture of Prince George at his christening!!! They do look EXACTLY the same so hard to tell between them, but George it is!

Nathan (age 2.75) started to pedal on the bike for the first time this week. Steering, not so much. Will have to work on that. ????
Felix (age 7.5 years) conquered his terror of jumping into pools. This in addition to lifting his feet from the floor of the pool sans floaty and deliberately putting his face in the water. His mother is reported to have wept with joy at camp pick up.
That Walk the Moon parody made me want another baby! Too bad that ship has sailed. 🙁
