Our ski vacation has officially come to an end, which means we survived the freezing cold temperatures in Vermont and are now trying to survive the freezing cold temperatures back in New York.

Yep, it is almost just as cold at home as it was on our trip, with slightly less snow.

The last day we were in Vermont was actually the nicest day, so we decided to delay the drive home until later that afternoon. Mazzy went back to ski school, Mike and I got some real runs in and Harlow stayed with our cousin, Robyn (the patron saint of ski vacations).

In the five minutes before we left Sugarbush to get back in the car and go home, I finally got some family shots of us all outside together.

It was the only day warm enough to do it. And by warm, I mean about 17 degrees.

The end of our ski trip means it is also time to announce the winner (chosen at random) of the $500 CVS gift card from Vaseline, the sponsor of our trip. Before I do that, I just want to talk a moment about how effective Vaseline Intensive Care lotion has been for us.

Vaseline Intensive Care™ Advanced Repair lotion is specifically formulated for people with very dry skin and clinically proven to heal very dry skin in 5 days, but I’ve had dry skin issues my whole life, so I was skeptical. I often give up moisturizing entirely, thinking my skin is a lost cause. I also worry sometimes that moisturizer aggravates my eczema which appears mainly on my hands and usually in patches on my legs during the winter. I used the Vaseline Intensive Care lotion religiously for the last week and not only did my skin become a lot smoother (Mike even commented on it), I did not get any eczema patches on my legs. Mazzy is prone to eczema as well and she didn’t get any patches either. I’m not saying Vaseline Intensive Care lotion cures eczema, I’m saying if you protect your skin the right way from the onset of winter (Vaseline Intensive Care says it actually forms a barrier between your skin and the environmental elements), the patches might never arrive. Also, itchy dry skin which usually effects all of us, was not an issue either. Suffice to say, I am going to continue using Vaseline Intensive Care at home and see if we can make it to the summer without any major issues.

Alright— time to announce the winner.

Congratulations to K. Harriman!

May you stock your house with every toiletry imaginable. Please email abby@mommyshorts.com to claim your prize.

Before I go, I’ve got a little slideshow of trip highlights that didn’t make it into my other posts. Click the right arrow on top of the main picture to move through the slideshow.

The boot picture didn’t make “Pink In NYC”, but this one did!

I’d like to give a huge thanks to Vaseline for sending us on this winter adventure.

Maybe next they can come out with a sunscreen and send us to the beach??
