Giveaway: $500 AmEx Gift Card & Year’s Supply of Boogie Wipes
On December 24th this year, I am packing up my Jewish family and taking them to Poppy and Nonna’s house in Rhode Island for their very first Christmas.
Poppy, aka “my father”, has been trying to establish a holiday with the family for years. When my parents got separated, back when I was ten years old, it was written into the divorce settlement that holidays would be spent with my mother (aka Grammy, but not Grammy at the time for obvious reasons.) My sister and I didn’t think much of it growing up and our traditions carried into adulthood, which means that even now, we spend holidays with our mom.
A few years ago, my dad mentioned something to my sister and me about spending Thanksgiving with him that year and we reacted like this was the most ludicrous thing we had ever heard.
“We can’t NOT spend Thanksgiving with MOM!”
“You don’t even care about the holidays, Dad.”
I will never forget the look on my dad’s face. It was at that moment I realized the reason my dad never seemed to celebrate the holidays was because he couldn’t celebrate them with his kids.
For a few years after that, we tried to establish fake holidays that we would spend with my father. “Liar’s Day” was a celebration that took place on March 6th, the day my dad thought was his birthday for most of his life, until his mother broke the news to him that he was actually born on May 6th and she had lied so he could make the kindergarten cut-off. “Status Day” was a celebration that took place on October 29th, the date my brother-in-law’s parents engraved on the back of his fancy new watch which had no significance whatsoever except that was the date they bought the watch. FYI- “Status Day” is a fabulous holiday where you go out to a really expensive restaurant and buy your loved one the cheapest item you can find from an obnoxiously upscale brand. Like a Gucci pair of socks or a Prada shower cap.
But none of these holidays really stuck with my father.
Then this year, my dad invited us up to their house in Rhode Island for Christmas. Nonna (my stepmother) is Catholic and celebrates Christmas as most people do— with a tree, Christmas Eve Dinner, stockings hung on the mantle, etc. He said the kids could help decorate a smaller kid’s tree the night before, we could do the whole cookies and milk thing for Santa and open presents the next morning.
“Oh my god, DAD! This is it! Why didn’t we think of this before? YOU CAN HAVE CHRISTMAS!!!!!!”
So. Now I am tasked with not only buying Hanukah and Christmas presents, I also need to buy stocking stuffers. I HAVE NEVER HAD TO BUY STOCKING STUFFERS BEFORE. It is the most exciting thing ever.
In partnership with Boogies Wipes, I have put together my “#1 Picks” for stocking stuffers. You know, since they are the experts on all things stuffed and picked. If you don’t see the wordplay there, your children stick their fingers up their stuffed noses to pick out their boogers far less than mine do.
To make it even more fun— if you tell me your #1 Stocking Stuffer Pick in the comment section below, you could win a $500 American Express gift card and a year’s supply of Boogie Wipes! (I’m really having a lot of awesome holiday giveaways, aren’t I???)

My #1 stocking stuffer for me would be the diamond love ring BC I have never been bought jewelry before, but I won’t being getting a stocking ser for Christmas, but my son will, so I have to go with the hexagon magnets as my #1 stocking stuffer choice for my son BC he loves playing with magnets….Sorry love ring maybe I can purchase you if I win this the day before my birthday.
We had a friend give us a fun idea to buy a build-a-bear (or my little pony in our house), have them put a little stuffing in the head, and let it stick out of the stocking. That way she can still have the fun experience of stuffing it in store! Cannot wait to see her face on Christmas morning. 🙂

My #1 Stocking Stuffer Pick is hands down the Boogie Wipes for my 9-month old! She just started daycare and ALWAYS has a runny nose – sounds like Boogie Wipes are key to making it through the winter.
I pinned on Pinterest @bmcira
I tweeted about the contest also!
And I subscribed to the newsletter (not sure how I hadn’t done that already!)
The emergency clown nose is a fantastic idea for crying twin 3 year olds! More like a purse stuffer! And the ihome speakers are a must for kids obsessed with “let it go”!
Glow bangles! We have light saber battles, glo parties, and sweet baths in the dark!!!
I already subscribe!! 🙂
Assorted lottery tickets.
Fuzzy socks!
As kids we always got the best stockings Santa (Mom) always packed it just right. An orange at the bottom candy, maybe some jewelry, gift cards, coffee. As a Mom myself now I am trying to live up to it. There will always be oranges or clemetines in the bottom!
Eos lip balm from your list. Mam pacifiers and mud pie paci clips.
Lottery tickets!!!!
my number one stocking stuffer pick would be the bacon candy. Kinda silly, I know. My family has this thing where we all tell each other how very much we love each other. The trump card that wins over everything is,
“I love you more than bacon”. We have the whole extended family saying it now.
#1 sticking stuffer for my girls are the band aids… They wear them as braceletts!
Condoms. Fun holidays always make me want another child…so that stocking stuffer would keep me in line 🙂
Tweeted 🙂
My parents always put an orange and an apple in our stockings. It sounds silly but I look forward to it every year. I hated it as a kid but now I cherish traditions like this.
Already subscribed! Yay.
Elsa gloves!

Mommy thinks the diamond love ring is the perfect stocking stuffer ! My girls would be all about the frozen band aids 🙂

My kids are bandaid obsessed. They would love to get Frozen band aids in their stockings! I always put undies and socks in their stockings. They love underwear almost as much as band aids. Haha!
My favorite stocking stuffer for my boys has been a Saxoflute that they got last year. All four boys from 1-9 years old have played with, and continue to play with it. Actually makes decent sounds, too. This year, I’m filling gift baggies with home-popped popcorn to take up some space and I think my kids will eat it faster than all their chocolate. They LOVE popcorn, and I usually only make it for family movie nights once or twice a month.
Pinned Mazzy’s ideas.

This is weird, but since I was little I’ve always gotten a cuties orange in my stocking, its become a favorite and now my kids get one in theirs. Whenever my now grown adult siblings and I all get together for Christmas we have peeling contests to see who can get the peel off in one chunk, and whose resulting shape is the coolest.
Band-aids are always a hit in my boys’ stockings.
Fun socks are always my go to stocking stuffer.
My favorite would be the cord catch because I am constantly breaking the part that goes into the phone. It either bends or breaks off. My husband is so annoyed with having to replace it he has a calendar of how long a charger lasts. I resorted to secretly buying them and replacing them without his knowing.
Coffee cozie! I have been a subscriber for years but can never make the bracket of the evil glare contest.

3rd entry (dont have a twitter)
So I subscribed to weekly emails! Whoop whoop!
I have three sons, and every year I stick something in their stockings that they would never ask for: makeup! It’s become a tradition, because I did it a few years ago before they had any ideas about gender identity, and they loved it so much that they get new makeup every year now. It’s usually just an eyeshadow quad and a Bonne Bell Lip Smackers, but they just lose their minds over it! Even now at 10, 8, and 6, they’ve already said this year that they hope Santa doesn’t forget their makeup 🙂
thisnyear my thoughtful one year old bought me a luggage strap since my favorite luggage busted on our first airplane trip with baby thanks to all the baby gear we were hauling. Oh and nail files…every year.
We have two must haves every year. The first one is an orange (family tradition). The second is a new Disney movie. The kids love them and it gives us something to do on Christmas Day.
My favorite stocking stuffer was the cashmere socks I got my aister. She loves them and I splurge one time a year to get them for her..
My #1 pick is the LOVE ring. I’m a mom of 2 boys – I need more pretty things in my life!
“Best stocking stuffer ideas for moms, dads, babies and kids” Pinned!
Sparkly nail polish, Chapstick, lego mini figures, scratch off lottery tickets, gloves, candy and an ornament to represent what the kids were really into that year……like LEGOS and Mickey Mouse!!

love the diamond love ring!!!
frozen band aids. And love the nail polish.
Always M&M’s, pez dispenser, slippers, and peppermint candys.
My favorite stocking stuffer is razor refills!!!!!
My dad always put those dimestore balsa wood glider airplanes in our stockings when we were little, and we have carried on the tradition to this day, even though we are all grown with children of our own!
Silver glitter glue! Glitter glue is a huge hit with both of my kids right now (ages 5 and 2) even though I cringe a little every time they get it out.
Well — if we’re talking about MY favorite stocking stuffer for me — it’s the Starbucks Gift Card. If it was my choice for a stocking stuffer to make things easier for my Peanut — going with the Boogie Wipes, cause they are genius in the cold weather! But my Peanut’s choice, for sure would be the Eos Lip Balms (Mommy! EGGS!) or the Paw Patrol characters (No job too big, no pup too small!) So I’m going to have to pick the Paw Patrol gang 🙂 — Have a WONDERFUL First Christmas together with Poppy and Nonna — it will be more magical and fun and memorable than you’ve been dreaming it will be!!
Subscribed for the weekly mommy shorts!!
My #1 stocking stuffer this year will be penguin stickers for my daughter, she’s mad about penguins!
Airplane bottles of liquor to get people through the holidays!
A meaningful Christmas ornament from something we did with our daughter that year. It’s only her 2nd Christmas but this year we picked up an adorable penguin ornament from our visit to the aquarium. We put the date and a note about the event. She will get an ornament each year, then when she has a tree of her own someday, she will have a jumpstart on decorating for Christmas!!
I love getting lotto tickets in my stocking!!
Jewelry all the way. Can’t go wrong with diamonds. 🙂
Bacon flavored candy! All the men in my life, both young and old, will go crazy for this candy!
The Butterfly Bubbles by Melissa and Doug are my favorite! My kid loves bubbles. I have to keep bubbles on hand! It’s a necessity just like lip balm!
Love the babiators and so does my 2 year old!
frozen band-aids! Frozen necklace! Frozen candy! Magic Clip Anna and Elsa dolls! It’s a Frozen Christmas!!!! Let it go….let it go…it’s all about Frozen noooow!
Boogie wipes are my favorite!! My son has been sick the last 2 weeks and we have gone through an entire large container!! I could use the year’s supply!!
subscribed for weekly emails!
Every year I get my hubby the red, green peanut m&ms…and a pack of razors.
My #1 pick is the iPhone tripod! We just had our first baby, she’s three months old now, and are constantly taking pictures and videos of her, so a tripod would be awesome, especially since my husbands videography skills look like something out of a bad horror film
I like the diamond “love” ring, but all of these items are fab!
My # 1 pick are the Butterfly Bubbles by Melissa and Doug! Bubbles to a kid is like what lip balm is to a grown-up. It is a must have! 🙂
