Anybody can make a gingerbread house, but it takes a truly obsessive person with a lot of free time on their hands to make a gingerbread house modeled after the house in their favorite movie or TV show.
Or, it takes Martha Stewart, who constructed the replica of Downtown Abby above.
Is Martha the only crazy fan out there with access to a piping bag and an oven? I decided to google random houses in pop culture to see what else would come up. Turns out you can find just about anything.

There were only a few gingerbread houses I was surprised I couldn’t find. No Brady Bunch House, no Bates Motel, no Golden Girls split level ranch.
Someone get on those for next year, ‘mmmkay?
The one below the AT-AT is not the Enterprise…it’s the Millennium Falcon…from Star Wars.
Thank you! I knew I’s get SOMETHING wrong 🙂
The Weasley’s house from Harry Potter is called “The Burrow”
The house from UP! LOVE IT!
These were cool. Except the Frozen one. I guess I am a true fan. C’mon, I’ve seen Cake Boss Next Great Baker, we need a little sugar work here…
We went to a castle the other weekend where for Christmas in one of the rooms they had a gingerbread replica model of the castle, right down to the portraits on the wall and the soft furnishings and even gingerbread kids looking at a tiny gingerbread replica of the gingerbread replica. It was totally amazing. My daughter marvelled at the details. My son asked the staff “can I eat a bit? Not even a nibble?” To be fair to him, it smelled so good.
We are attempting a gingerbread nativity scene this afternoon because my son found the cutter kit and it was good value. Plus you don’t need to stick it together which is always my downfall. But the kids are already arguing over who will get to eat the baby Jesus which just seems so so wrong.
So fun. If you have time you should take the girls up to the Parker Meridian – they have a very cool gingerbread house exhibit going on in the lobby.
I thought the Bag End from Lord Of the Rings was Shrek’s swamp haha
The wrecked Gingerbread house with Miley is by far the greatest thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life.
I made a TARDIS last year. Not as good as this one, but pretty awesome for a mom with a TON of extra family that year and a rather sick, severely jet lagged baby. Pretty awesome period, really
Was going to make Bag End this year, but this year turned out to be even more busy and stress-filled than last year, so I stuck with regular cookies. First time in 7 years I haven’t made a gingerbread structure, and I’m kind of sad about it.
