I’m really excited to announce the contents of my Mother’s Day Swag Bag! It has only seven items but that’s because I wanted every item to be AWESOME. They are all BIG TICKET items and only stuff that grown-ups would get excited about. No toys, no blankies, no diapers. Absolutely nothing for your kids. JUST YOU.
As always, you must subscribe to my daily or weekly newsletter to enter. Instructions will be appear in this Sunday’s email and the winner will be revealed the following Sunday.
Want to see what’s inside? Of course you do…
1. MZ Wallace Large Sutton in Magnet ($245)
First we’ll talk about the bag itself, which once again is MZ Wallace. Why? Because I LOVE THEM. And— I am hosting a Mom’s Night Out event this Friday night at their SOHO shop (93 Crosby St.) from 5pm-8pm. There will be bubbly, bites, shopping, free manicures, and a Remarkably Average book signing by YOURS TRULY.
The Large Sutton fits a ton of stuff with inner pockets, a detachable insert bag and a detachable cross body strap.
2. Helen Ficalora necklace – 18″ Fine 14k Gold Chain ($125) and one Alphabet Charm ($165)
Secondly, we’ve got a 14K gold necklace from Helen Ficalora which is the necklace I’ve been wearing every day for the past seven years. It was my push present from Mike when I was pregnant with Mazzy. He bought me the “H” when Harlow was born. I get countless compliments on it. It’s special but small enough for every day wear. I think it’s perfect.
4. iRobot Roomba 980 ($799.99)
Third, we’ve got a Roomba from iRobot. The Roomba is a robot vacuum that can clean floors, carpets, corners, under your couch and then get itself back to its home base to recharge all by itself. It’s also my family’s new pet. We named him Kevin. And that was before my whole feud with Kevin from the coffee shop. (People who follow me on Snapchat will know what I am talking about.) My sister and her husband have one that they named Norbert. Apparently, naming your Roomba is A THING.
5. Braava Jet 240 ($169.99)
If the Roomba isn’t enough for your robot cleaning needs, how about a iRobot mop too???
6. $100 Teleflora Gift Card ($100 plus free delivery)
I’m also giving away a $100 gift card from Teleflora to service all your Mother’s Day flower needs. Feel free to use the gift card on yourself too. You can just say they were a Mother’s Day gift to you from Mommy Shorts!
7. The Mommy Shorts Guide to Remarkably Average Parenting + The Remarkably Average Mug
And lastly, of course, I’ve got a the ultimate Mother’s Day gift which is the remarkably average book + remarkably average mug combo. FYI, The Mommy Shorts Guide to Remarkably Average Parenting currently has 5 stars on Amazon and over 100 overwhelmingly positive reviews so please don’t just take my word for it— trust the Amazon consumers! It’s also only $10 for the hardcover. If you have no time to read a book, the audible is now available as well. I can read it right to you! In mugs news, I ordered a bunch more so they are still available for purchase.
If you’d like to see me talk about all these items, plus answer a few Q&A questions to switch things up, here’s the video below.
To enter to win the swag bag, you must be a Mommy Shorts subscriber. If you are not already, you can sign up for my daily or weekly newsletter here.
Instructions to enter can only be found in this Sunday night’s newsletter! I mention it nowhere else so my dedicated readers have the best shot possible. Winner will be announced the following Sunday.
Oh, and one more thing! I’m going to give away another $100 Teleflora gift card in the comments below! Just tell me who you would buy your flowers for and what you would name your Roomba.
Good luck!

I always send flowers to my MIL. Always. She has done more for my 5 guys & I than anyone else has. Always there for us for the good or the not so good.
I would name my Roomba FREDDIE. It’s a saying in my home, “Ready Freddie?” So that would come naturally.
I would send flowers to my older sisters, one has spent the past year being cancer mom to my niece while working full time in the military. She has shown just how strong she is, and living across the country we can’t be there with her like we wish we could. I would also send some to my other older sister, who is pregnant with her first kiddo and having a complicated pregnancy, the baby will most likely be delivered early and spend time in the nicu. She, too, is living too far for us to be there with her. Right now there is nothing I would like more than for them to they are amazing Momma’s!
I’d send flowers to my Mom! Cliche- but she is the most amazing woman and reason I am who I am today! Truly grateful for her! We would name our Roomba PB1 aka pool boy!
I would buy my flowers for my sister, Heidi! And my Rumba would be named Joan. 🙂
I would definitely send my mom flowers. She moved 2 hours away and I miss her sooo much. I have 2 young babies (1 and 3 yrs old) and wish they could be closer to her. So I would send her flowers on their behalf.
I would name my roomba “robotina” it’s the jetsons maid from the cartoons in Spanish when I watched them as a kid.
Thanks for always sharing, your snapchats always bring a smile to my face
Flowers would go to Mom of course. We have a Roomba and we just call her Roomba so no assigned name but she is definitely a female in our house for some reason.
Flowers for mom in law and my kids because without them I wouldnt have a chance of winning the swag bag… 😉😉😉
As for my future Roomba **cough cough… I shall name it Jarvis. Because. Iron Man. Hello. And who doesnt’t want a Jarvis in their lives.
I would definitely send flowers to my mama who helps me out so much I don’t know what I would ever do without her. And I would name my roomba, squints, just because I love the Sandlot!
My momma, the best mom and Nana for my kiddo! And I’d name it Relax – because that’s what I’d do while it’s working!
I’d send calla lillies to my bff who just had a baby. I think I’d name my roomba r5d2 after the passed-over droid in Star Wars.
Flowers would be for my mom and mother in law! Both women have had a large impact on my life and deserve something beautiful for Mother’s Day.
Our Roomba would be called Bucky…so that he could fit in with our other awkwardly named pets…Smacky, Punk and Pitchou (Peach for short)!!
The flowers would be for my MiL because she watches my daughter every day and is still excited to see her the next day. The room a would be named Ruby.
Flowers for my mom! And I asked my two year old boy what we should name the roomba and he suggested “Boobie”. I’m wondering if he will regret this later on.
I would send flowers to my sister who lives across the world from me and is about to have her 2nd baby in June! I would name my Roomba Rocco because my husband wouldn’t let me name our son that 🙂
I would send flowers to my remarkably wonderful neighbor-she doesn’t have children yet, but she makes me a better mom by helping and supporting me! She doesn’t even judge my day 3 unwashed hair, my 4 year old’s daily rainboot attire, or my toy museum of a house!
Forgot to leave my Roomba name: Bobby
I would send flowers to my mom and to my Omi who is in hospice. Also I would name my roomba Frederick because I like the way it sounds.
We have an offbrand sweeper roomba named Richard and I love him. He probably deserves the flowers, but I’d like to send them to my friend in Boston who is in the middle of fertility treatments and just got laid off.
Can’t wait to read the newsletter! I would buy the flowers for my Grandmother, her husband passed away and now it might be nice for her to enjoy flowers that aren’t associated with the funeral. 😍 We’d call our Roomba swifty sweeper!
I would of course send them to my momma because she’s so amazing! And I feel like gizmo would be a great name for my roomba and squirt for the mopping one 🙂 thanks for putting together such and awesome gift and for making us all feel normal! Lol
I would buy flowers for my dear friend, Lori. She’s a mom pal who is like a sister and she cheers me along as I mom alongside her.
We would name our Roomba: Hildegard just bc it’s a funny name.
To be completely honest, I think I would splurge and buy the flowers for myself. Nobody else gets them for me so it would be a special little treat for me for Mother’s Day. Unless you count the flowers (weeds haha) that my children pick for me on a daily basis this time of year and bring them in for me and I put them in little Dixie cup “vases. I would name my Rumba Bravo!
I would send my mom and my sister flowers and name my Roomba “Cecil.”
I’d give flowers to our sitter because we are sadly leaving her after 4 years of raising my child for me while I teach! I think I’d name my Roomba Rosie because I’m an 80’s kid-Jetson’s fan 😉 (my 4 year old says he’d name it Poop Face….)
Flowers would definitely be for myself and for my mom…God knows how we need to be spoiled a little!
Roomba would be named Joaquin….Just because it would sound like a sexy pool guy!! 🤣🤣😊
Buy flowers for myself.
Name my roomba sprinkles.
I’d buy flowers for my mom. And maybe me, too!
I love the suggestion above to name the Roomba ‘Donald’! However, I’d probably call ours Chad.
I WOULD SEND FLOWERS TO MY SISTER WHO JUST LOST A PRECIOUS BABY THIS WEEK. . .AND IS IN DIRE NEED OF CHEERING UP. . . .AND MY MOM, THE BEST MOM IN THE WORLD! WE WOULD NAME OUR ROOMBA HERMIONE, AFTER THE BEST WIZARD!!! HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO ALL!
I would buy flowers for my grandmother. They would be from my 4 month old son:) And we would name our Roomba Gaston of course.
I would buy flowers for my baby sister who can’t have children but is the best auntie. And I would name my Roomba Wanda.
I would get flowers for my mom, stepmom, and mother in law. They are 3 terrific ladies who help me so much with my kids and life. I can’t thank them enough.
My mom
R2D2!
I would send flowers to my 93 year old grandmother, she deserves them more than anyone I know. Our current Roomba’s name is JohnNY 5, from the movie Short Circuit.
Holy crap! This month’s swag bag is freaking amazing.
I’d give the flowers to myself but they’d really be appreciated by my six year old. We just moved a month ago and packing a whole house and cleaning it without outside help is no joke!
I’d name my Roomba – Crummy or Crumby
I’d buy flowers for my mom and my grandma so I won’t get to see them for Mother’s Day. And I’d name my Roomba Duke.
I’d give flowers to my mom, who is graduating college TOMORROW! She’s worked for over 35 years to try and get that degree. I’m so proud of her.
I’d name it Karen.
i’d buy the flowers for my 93 yr old nana whose younger (79) sister just passed away; I’d name the roomba ozzie, just because!
I would send flowers to my mom and my grandma. My mom is 72 on May 25, and going through her second round of chemo, but still manages to be an active mom to me and my siblings and an grandma to my son (her only grandchild thus far) who just turned four yesterday. In fact, she will be at his bday party tomorrow! My grandma is in her 90s and lives in Baltimore and we don’t get to see her nearly enough. She adores my son and he loves GG. These two women are amazing and there is no way I could ever express how much they mean to me and how much I love them, but it would be nice to be able to give them some
beautiful flowers.
As for the Roomba, I’d name it Big Papi, in honor of him formerly being one of the best cleanup hitters in baseball…yes, Sox fan here…lol
I would send flowers to my amazing momma and I would name my Roomba Mike, after my dad who is a carpet cleaner!
I’d for sure send the flowers to my mom. I’d name the roomba Vader since our 5 year old vetoed the name for our new black kitten!!!
I’d buy flowers for my mom, because she’s the greatest. And the Roomba would definitely be called “New Kevin.” Guess my husband’s name…
I would buy my mom and my mother-in-law flowers for sure and the roomba would be named Conzuela. 🤷♀️
I would buy flowers for my mother & I would name my Roomba “pickles” ( my kids would love that name)
Your blog was one of the first blogs on motherhood I ever read (I can’t bring myself to call this a “mommy blog,” because what you write and post is so much more than that dismissive term implies!), and remains one of three I still follow! I’m a first class lurker by nature, but that swag bag post and the Teleflora gift card offer is enough to get me out from under my cozy rock 😉
Flowers would be for my partner. For one, they absolutely are the other Mom around here, and moreover, they are the greater lover of flowers between the two of us. My sanity remains (mostly) intact thanks to them, and I’d love the chance to show my appreciation with a beautiful bouquet 💐
The Roomba I would name The Help — so I could relax and let The Help take care of the floor! 😂
I would send flowers to my Mum in New Zealand for Mothers Day. The Roomba will be named Trevor, because George is already taken by my pregnancy body pillow 😂
I’d send flowers to my friends who are pregnant right now. I have a few and I think they would love to intro into motherhood. — The romba would need to be named Gus Gus. My girls would love its ode to Cinderella.
I would buy a big bouquet of Lilies for my mom. My dad passed away eight years ago and he always spoiled her with flowers on Mother’s Day and their anniversary. If we had a Roomba, we would name it Dino Dan. My daughter discovered that show and we think it sucks. Perfect feature for a vacuum!
Holy moly, that’s the best swag bag ever!! I’d use the flower card for my mom, if they deliver to Canada, obviously, since my mom is the best person I’ve ever met. If they don’t deliver to Canada, I’d use the card for my friend Sarah, who lives in the states. She just had her second child, and totally deserves something beautiful!
I’d name my roomba “DJ Roomba” (from Parks and Rec!) And I would divvy up the gift card to buy flowers for my mom and MIL. 🙂
I would send the flowers to my friend who just lost her son, and I would name my Roomba Wrigley. Thanks!
Without question, flowers would be sent to my incredible momma who is the most deserving momma I know. And my Roomba’s name would be Hubert. Hubert, because I am a total nerd and know that Hubert Cecil Booth filed the first patent on a vaccuum cleaner. And Hubert because no vaccuum should be named anything less than masculine!
I would buy my mom flowers and i would name her sparkles
I would send flowers to my grandmother because I would love to put a smile on her face. I think it’s hilarious you named your Roomba Kevin since that’s my husband’s name. I would let our toddler boys name our Rooma and considering they named their elf on a shelf HoHoHo who knows what would happen.
I would buy my great grandmother flowers, she just recently fell ill so this would cheer her up.
I forgot, I’d name my Roomba General Clean and I’d get flower wets for my great grandmother
I would send flowers to my mom and my sister-in-law, who is only 28 and was recently diagnosed with cancer and will be having surgery the day after mother’s day. And I would name the roomba Wall-E because we love Disney.
Flowers for my grandma! And the roomba would be My Best Friend because 3 kids four years and under and dark hardwoods.
I would send flowers to my mom and mother in law. They are garnet grandmas to my kiddos. And I would have to name my roomba Wall-E! It’s a must! Lol
**great
I would share the telefora gift card with my sister in law who just had a miscarriage and probably buy myself a small bouquet as well. Heck, I like flowers too. The Roomba, I would name Precious because anything that does cleaning for me is, well, precious. I also have a feeling I’d be as obsessed with it as Gollum was with his ring
I would give them to my friend Wendi. Wendi has intellectual disabilities, and although she has no children of her own, she is a mother to many.
I would name my Roomba Dusty.
I would send flowers to my grandmother. She’s the only one I have left so I would send some to her!😊
And I would name the mop irobot Thundersnow and the vac irobot Thorc, god of cleanliness.
I’d buy them for my great grandma who is 91 years young and lights up when she gets flowers. her boyfriend recently passed away, he used to always buy flowers for her. and I’d name my roomba Oscar since between the mess my kids, kitten, cat, and husband make… it would have to love garbage!
I would buy flowers for my grandma – it’s hitting me that I don’t know how many more times I will get to see her (she lives 800 miles away 🙁 ) and I want her to know how much my son and I love and appreciate her!! My 6yo wants to name the Roomba “blaze”. We had his last name changed and when I asked him if he wanted to do it, he figured he’d change his entire name to Blaze…cannot tell you how disappointed he was that there were only 2 options and they were the last name lol! 😂😂
Definitely my Mom. She’s the most deserving person, and it would totally brighten her day/week!
I would use the gift card to buy my 2 best friends flowers. They have pulled me through my heartbreaking divorce and have helped me become the mother I am today. I couldn’t do life without these two ladies and they deserve the world
I’d buy flowers for my mommy of course!!
I would buy my mom a bouquet! She is amazing, and has helped me so much this year! I have twin 6 year olds and a 9 month old so our house is pretty hectic/crazy/messy. She has always been the most amazing mother. Wanted to say this more eloquently but the baby is up from nap and my brain is mush these days. I would name the Roomba Sister Wife. HaHa
I would send the flowers to my momma, of course. And I would name the Roomba something like Remington or Bic because with 2 Border Collies that constantly shed my carpet looks like it needs shaved daily.
I’d get flowers for my mom and my godmother. They are both truely special to me. 😊 As for the roomba my girls want to call it, Lady Glitter Sparkles (I think they’ve seen Trolls one too many times lol).
I’d send flowers to my grandma, who’s 92.
I’d name my Roomba Shiva, after the Hindu destroyer…it will destroy our mess.
With $100 for flowers I would send then to my mother and grandma.
I would send my daughter flowers. A big bunch of lilies for my Lily.
Roomba name: Linus
I would send flowers to my amazing friend Kristen, who gets me as a mom more than anyone. And I would name the roomba Meryl of course. 💁🏼
I would buy flowers for myself and would name the Roomba billygoat, you know, cause goats eat everything. And having 9 kids….there is usually a little bit of everything on our floors!
I meant to say I would buy the flowers for my mom…but apparently I have myself on my brain lol
I would send flowers to my mom and daughter as she is about to graduate preschool. The mop would be named Sara after me so when I say Sara is mopping everyone thinks that it is me 🙂
I’d get my mom and mother Inlaw flowers. We would name the roomba cooper!
I would buy the flowers for my mom. She worked for 42 years in nursing and when she retired she took care of my grandmother for 5 years at home and she is currently taking care of my father who was diagnosed with kidney cancer and is undergoing chemo therapy currently. She never complains and on top of everything she also watches my 3 year old so I can work. She is an amazing mother, wife, and grandmother. I think my roomba would have to be named Merryweather, after one of the fairies from Sleeping Beauty.
I would send flowers to my sister because it’s her birthday soon and it’s our first Mother’s Day without our mom.
Roomba would be named Spot!
Ok…i would spend the flower gc on myself because, well, I deserve it. Second I would name my new robot vacuum “R2”, because I’m a nerd. I think it’s hilarious that you named yours Kevin!!! Coffee shop mad man!! He’s in your house!!
Um….Me! I’d buy myself flowers and probably break them up into small bouquets for around the house.
The Roomba would be named Sweepity a la, Sword in the Stone. The Braava Jet would be Scrubity!
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=75BJ2ovo-S0
I would send them to my mom and two sisters….and myself…because who doesn’t love fresh flowers!!! I would name my roomba dj roomba hahaha
I’d buy flowers for my sister who had her first baby a few weeks ago! And Roomba would be named Arnold.
If I were to win I would name the Roomba Ronald! This gift would go straight to my mother. She deserves the world and of I can’t give it to her I can at least try to give her a bit at a time. This is my chance!
I’d give the bouquet to my mom. And i would probably refer to the roomba as roomba…. boring, I know.
I love the swag bag- wow!! The idea of the Roomba has me terribly excited as I have wanted one for forever!! I would send flowers to my fellow mom and best friend. We live of opposite coasts, but support each other tirelessly. We are also completely I afraid to tell each other when we are incredibly, remarkably average parents. lol
I would name my roomba Jeeves, because it would feel like I had a butler lol
I would buy flowers for my sister who is pregnant with her first baby. We would name our Roomba Radar!
I would name our roomba William and may just buy the flowers for myself 😊
I would buy the biggest bunch of flowers to put on my mom’s headstone. She’s gone but not forgotten.
I would name my Roomba Gene!
Flowers would definitely go to my best friend who has talk to me off the Mommy Crazy Cliff a bazillion times. I’d name my new BFF “Suckerella”– thank you so much for your generous gifts. This is the Mother of All Swag Bags I am putting all of my positive juices into the universe, crossing all of my fingers, hoping I get it! I never win any of these sort of things, so it’d be a real Mother’s Day miracle! Xo!!
I would give the flowers to my
Mother in law. I would call the roomba horsey because I’m sure my daughter would Make her toys ride on it!
I would send flowers to my mom because she is simply the best. Becoming a mom myself has really helped me see just how amazing she is! I would name my Roomba Danny after Danny Tanner!
The flowers I would buy for my grandma. She’s had a particularly rough year after barely surviving a heart attack and now battling depression in the aftermath of that. I would love to give her a beautiful bouquet to brighten even just one of her days! And the roomba I would name Jeeves lol it just fits.
I would name it Roman (you get it? Like ROAMING)
The flowers would probably be for one of my daughters.
I would send the flowers to my Grama. She’s so special to me. And I think I’d name the Roomba …. Michael Scott. 🙂
I would love to send flowers to my brother and his new husband with Teleflora!
My Roomba would be Boomba… or mmmbop!
I would buy the flowers for myself to make my new house feel like home… And some for my grandma cause she’s the best! I would love a roomba and would name her stella!
I’d buy flowers for my sis-in-law! She’s a new mother – her little one arrived just in time for Mother’s Day! I think a bouquet of pink roses would totally brighten up her sleepless nights, which she’s been struggling through these couple of days!
I’d name the Roomba “mommybff” or She-Ra lol – thanks for the chance!
I’d buy flowers for my mother, the most gracious person I know.
And I’d name my Roomba something fun like Tex.
I think for the flowers I would buy them for the lady across the street. We just moved here a few months ago and she has dementia so she has come over to introduce herself a few times. However, she is always so sweet and so sweet my kids and house full of pets. Plus it is lonely in a new neighborhood so I think to cheer things up it would be good to spread the love a bit and teach my kids about sharing too 😊 as for a name it would have to be Sumo cuz it will have to knock out some heavy competition: my 1.5 year old son who refuses to eat sitting, my daughter just spills things even when there is nothing around, 3 dogs and a cat eho has recently been bringing some new presents to the door (super gross), and the plants we are attempting grow inside until it decides to act like spring and not winter, oh don’t forget the husband who refuses to take his shoes off ever😂
