Giveaway: $500 AmEx Gift Card & Year’s Supply of Boogie Wipes
On December 24th this year, I am packing up my Jewish family and taking them to Poppy and Nonna’s house in Rhode Island for their very first Christmas.
Poppy, aka “my father”, has been trying to establish a holiday with the family for years. When my parents got separated, back when I was ten years old, it was written into the divorce settlement that holidays would be spent with my mother (aka Grammy, but not Grammy at the time for obvious reasons.) My sister and I didn’t think much of it growing up and our traditions carried into adulthood, which means that even now, we spend holidays with our mom.
A few years ago, my dad mentioned something to my sister and me about spending Thanksgiving with him that year and we reacted like this was the most ludicrous thing we had ever heard.
“We can’t NOT spend Thanksgiving with MOM!”
“You don’t even care about the holidays, Dad.”
I will never forget the look on my dad’s face. It was at that moment I realized the reason my dad never seemed to celebrate the holidays was because he couldn’t celebrate them with his kids.
For a few years after that, we tried to establish fake holidays that we would spend with my father. “Liar’s Day” was a celebration that took place on March 6th, the day my dad thought was his birthday for most of his life, until his mother broke the news to him that he was actually born on May 6th and she had lied so he could make the kindergarten cut-off. “Status Day” was a celebration that took place on October 29th, the date my brother-in-law’s parents engraved on the back of his fancy new watch which had no significance whatsoever except that was the date they bought the watch. FYI- “Status Day” is a fabulous holiday where you go out to a really expensive restaurant and buy your loved one the cheapest item you can find from an obnoxiously upscale brand. Like a Gucci pair of socks or a Prada shower cap.
But none of these holidays really stuck with my father.
Then this year, my dad invited us up to their house in Rhode Island for Christmas. Nonna (my stepmother) is Catholic and celebrates Christmas as most people do— with a tree, Christmas Eve Dinner, stockings hung on the mantle, etc. He said the kids could help decorate a smaller kid’s tree the night before, we could do the whole cookies and milk thing for Santa and open presents the next morning.
“Oh my god, DAD! This is it! Why didn’t we think of this before? YOU CAN HAVE CHRISTMAS!!!!!!”
So. Now I am tasked with not only buying Hanukah and Christmas presents, I also need to buy stocking stuffers. I HAVE NEVER HAD TO BUY STOCKING STUFFERS BEFORE. It is the most exciting thing ever.
In partnership with Boogies Wipes, I have put together my “#1 Picks” for stocking stuffers. You know, since they are the experts on all things stuffed and picked. If you don’t see the wordplay there, your children stick their fingers up their stuffed noses to pick out their boogers far less than mine do.
To make it even more fun— if you tell me your #1 Stocking Stuffer Pick in the comment section below, you could win a $500 American Express gift card and a year’s supply of Boogie Wipes! (I’m really having a lot of awesome holiday giveaways, aren’t I???)

My favorite stocking stuffer is CHOCOLATE! In some expensive brand I’d never ever buy…because it’s expensive. And if I get it on a regular basis I’d want it FOREVER. Then I’d need new pants. And pants won’t fit in a stocking.
#1 stocking stuffer has to be a starbucks gift card!
Okay I commented on facebook with this…
For me its Doves Dark Chocolate candies, for my son its matchbox cars, for my hubby its pocket knifes. All of which is hidden in a pile of the very fun things like toothpaste, new toothbrushes, razors, and deodorant got to look like your getting more by getting the essentials!
But after reading this I totally forgot about scratch offs we each buy a ton of scratch offs each year to put in the stockings and are so excited to win about $5 out of all of them put together!
AND I subscribed!!!! #winning
Oh and don’t forget to take a cookie or two away and leave some crumbs and drink most of the milk by Christmas morning!
Bacon Candy. Nuff said. It seems like a cheaper alternative to buying fancy bacon and then having to actually bake it on Christmas morning. Seems appropriate. Then I’ll also toss a hard boiled egg in that stocking and were all nourished up for present opening.

My husband is getting a new hex driver set while the little guy is getting Bubble Ooodles. The three dogs are getting their usual pizzles and peanut butter biscuits. I’m hoping for new wind up toys in mine!
tweeted! (for the first time ever)
As a kid, our tradition was to have an apple, orange, and potato in our stocking as a reminder of when previous generations got these things in their stockings and they were made a portion of the day’s meal.
My favorite thing for a stocking is something with a little sparkle. Rings, earrings, necklaces. Something “more” than you typically expect, although with kids that doesn’t have to mean more money. I found a little engraved locket for my daughter this year.
Lottery tickets, just for fun and thrill
Pinned it! Boogie Wipes of course. Those things are gold.
#1 stocking stuffer is the cord catch. I am always losing the cord. Also signed up for the newsletter
Gift cards, because you can’t go wrong!
I’d love the Starbucks card because my two kids leave me with very little sleep! I’m pretty sure if you tested my blood, my type would dark roast coffee. 😉

My number stocking stuffer for myself is cookie cutters, cupcake wrappers, gift cards, and essential oils.
My number one stocking stuffer for kids are bath toys, stickers, glow sticks, seeds and mini pots to grow plants/veggies, colorful straws or anything else shiny, colorful, gross or noisy for that matter.

For our girls the go to stocking stuffer is fun chapsticks. The girls are obsessed and refer to Chapstick as lipstick. Since one it keeps them from having dry lips and two doesn’t show, we totally give in. They usually each get four or five fun chapsticks.
I want a dry bar gift card…. #BigHairDon’tCare
My #1 is EOS lip balm. I can never seem to have enough and now my daughter steals it so I need even more!

Love the emergency clown nose!!

We make a treasure map and stick it in their stocking. Then they have to follow it to find the year’s “Big Gift”.

Our #1 is silly putty! I ALWAYS got it in my stocking as a kid. I can’t imagine not carrying on the “tradition”.
This year, thanks to Youtube’s CookieSwirlC, our number one stocking stuffers are My Little Pony blind bags. Our three year old is in love with those things and I finally found them at Target.
mu favorite stocking stuffers are baseball cards and anything on the Target check out aisle that my kids beg me for year round.
My husband and I always will go to Walgreens or the Dollar Store on Christmas Eve and pick silly little stuff for each other. Now that we have a 2 year old, we will be doing the same for her. Usually something from the “big kid” section ends up in our stockings. 😉 Our daughter will get something like a new toothbrush, stickers, or a silly little toy.

Themed bandaids are a huge stocking stuffer favorite in our house since every time one of my boys gets a “boo-boo” a bandaid is ALWAYS necessary! For the hubby I go for deodorant and boxers cuz men can’t have enough of either!!
Just Pinned to my page Elm31881
Everyone at my house gets a new battery operated toothbrush every year. Of course, there’s always chocolate in them to offset the toothbrush. LOL
I’m subscribed to your daily emails 🙂
Love the emergency clown nose! I’m getting it for my husband!

We always put band aids in the stockings, it’s always a hit. Thanks for all the new ideas!
We always got Lifesaver books in our stockings 🙂
MY number one stocking stuffer every year is socks and underwear. Everyone gets socks and underwear in their stocking 🙂
I tweeted about the contest.
I pinned the contest on my products I love page on Pintrest.
My #1 stocking stuffer is Tegu magnetic blocks pocket pouch. I can easily throw into my bag.

#1 Stocking stuffer growing up was Lifesaver Candy Book and Jewery.
#1 for my 3 yr old has been matchbox cars and Thomas the Train.
I love the bandaids!! I just added that to my stocking stuffers list!
Matchbox cars
Of the items you posted, my favorite is the cord catch – I didn’t know I needed one until now! For kids the lip balm. My oldest son is always asking to borrow my ChapStick. Actually, I usually expect a fresh stock of flavored ChapStick in my stocking from hubby each year. We also always do toothbrushes in stockings since it is a high sweets time of year.
Cord catch! Already bought one for my husband’s stocking (that I may or may not use for myself)
And pinned Harlows cause I can see my son with the paw patrol and Bubble Guppies stuff lol
I subscribe to your newsletter (daily!).
I already subscribe to your emails.
Any kind of lip gloss!
We are also Jewish, so I’ve never stuffed a stocking, however my Mormon Mother in law gives everybody a stocking each year filled with candy and what my grandfather would call “holitronkus” (cheap junk). I would love to find an Emergency Clown nose in my stocking this year, maybe I should forward this to my MIL…
and I subscribed!
I love to give my kids cool hats in their stockings. Sometime they are stylish fedoras but this year I went with funky ones that matched their interests. The 6yo got a knit hat that looks like a knight’s helmet and the 2yo got the softest fuzzy puppy dog hat with ears. 🙂
My number one go-to stocking stuffer for my two older boys are those mini-lego kits. The kind that places like Target usually have in the front or on a middle display in the toy aisle. They usually only contain 10-15 pieces but they love them. This year will probably have a Minecraft theme.
For my toddler it’s Hot Wheels or bust lol. And for SO the tradition is festive holiday socks. The more ridiculous the better.
Kinda expensive but awesome…Tegu block pocket packs!
My kids always love tub squirting toys.
Adults get scratch tickets and everyone gets a gift card 🙂
I always buy gift cards ($5-10) for all of the stores we shop at. Then when we are at the store and the kids want to buy something…they use “their” money and don’t need to ask me. It teaches them to think before they buy and they feel like they have control over something 🙂
Scratch off lottery tickets are my favorite to give and get!

My #1 stocking stuffer pick this year is Jamberry nail wraps. I can’t wait to see how excited my daughter is to have fancy nails!
#1: LUSH bath bombs. Double points if they have glitter.
We have the paw patrol figures in our stocking this year too! I like to put a coloring book with crayons in the stocking. After all the excitement of the morning my son is usually pretty worn out and quiet in the afternoon. He can sit around and color Christmas pictures for a good hour. We plaster the fridge with them that day and put them away with the ornaments “for next year” that following weekend.
My favorite stocking stuffer to give and receive is a yearly ornament. Sappy, I know, but it’s a good way to fill your tree and pass down a collection to your children. My older daughter will be getting a Frozen ornament and the baby will get a 1st Christmas ornament. And you cannot go wrong with chapstick and bandaids for the kiddos!
so far with my kids my #1 stocking stuff is candy!! it’s what they get most excited about… they could almost care less about any toys.
Tweeted; shortened due to character limit.
Pinned to my “Holla Daze” board.
Stockings have always been the biggest part of Christmas for my family (which is especially weird when you factor in that we didn’t do Santa). My mom always found wild and wonderful things to stuff them with, but band-aids were always a winner.

Boogie wipes!!! I have a one year old daughter and I love them! Especially in the fresh sent!
My grandma made all of our stockings and we’ve been adding things to them throughout our childhood and after. Our spouses receive a homemade stocking when we get married and we get one for our child at our baby showers.
Favorite stockin stuffer: something new for our stockings! It can be a “new dad” button or my favorite which is on my 19 mo old daughter’s: beading from my mother in law’s wedding dress strung on a diaper pin she used when my husband was a baby.
Every year my daughter gets a Hello Kitty Pez dispenser. Something I just have to get her no matter what.
We always do scratch offs! My husband won $100 one year!
little miss books for my girl, gift cards for hubs & jewelry for me!
Happy socks. I love them but i dont want to spend money on socks for myself
Band-aids! I already have frozen, bubble guppies, and skylanders ones for their stockings!
Melissa and Doug mini stamp set – my daughter loves stamps and stickers and they are the perfect stuffing size.
My #1 stocking stuffer has always been the orange in the toe of the stocking.
