This video is a two and a half minute celebration of three stay-at-home moms from different regions of the United States directed by Matt Bieler. I don't want to say too much, except my heart just exploded.
I don't think I've seen anything capture the everyday beauty of being a parent quite like this…

The video is actually the perfect set up for a photo series I am starting tomorrow with photographer Raquel Bianca, documenting the morning routines of four moms from around the New York area. They all won my "Beautiful Morning" contest a few months ago. Remember when I wondered if our hard hectic mornings are actually more beautiful than we think?
One of the moms photographed was the mother who started the discussion about how the photos of my morning set unrealistic expectations for other working moms.
I've seen her pictures. Her morning is beautiful too. Can't wait to share them with you!
Maybe I should send this to my boss with a note on the end that says “I Quit!”
DAMN YOU! That totally made me cry. I hope my sons realize how much I love them…and I hope my sons make me a sappy artsy video some day to make up for the time today they sprayed Febreeze all over each other…Thank you for sharing this. And now I need a good glass of wine.
The day my boys say anything along the lines of , “shhhh…Mommy is sleeping” would be the day life as we know it ceases to exist. Ceases. To. Exist.
But it was a sweet sentiment, anyway. Thanks for sharing!
LOVELOVELOVE!
THAT is gorgeous.
Beautifully done!
Ha. Truth. Mazzy and Harlow make it clear they have no sympathy for my exhaustion EVERY. SINGLE. MORNING. when they wake up between 4-6am.
My kids are adopted and the oldest is 9. I hope one day we get past the attachment issues with him and I can feel he loves me like those moms seem to feel their kids love them!
So sweet. I can only hope my life would seem as beautiful, if I were to watch a movie short edited to show the wonderful moments.
That was beautiful – thank you for sharing!
This was so beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing – had an unusually difficult day with my crazy 2 year old and this helped me put it all in perspective.
Mine too. Three days after an unsuccessful surgery to remove an ovarian cyst, they opened me up along my old c-section scar. I was tired and I hurt and dad had to work. No sympathy from my twins, one sharpied the side of the house while I sat on a lawn chair yelling because I couldn’t get up without my oldest helping me. Someday they’ll develop that empathy. They were preemies and have some delays and immaturity. I know they will because my oldest was tending to me the best he could.
You never know how strong you are until you become a mom. Sick as hell, in pain, so tired we’re dizzy and we still are there for our kids.
Ugh, just at the end.. and it totally got me.
So FREAKING beautiful. With #3 due in May I often find myself thinking….WHAT AM I GOING TO DO, I’M IN OVER MY HEAD RIGHT NOW. Watching these moms who had 3 kids or MORE was a good reminder that we do what we need to do when we need to do it and it’s beautiful and messy and I’m gunna love it. Thanks for sharing.
My husband was adopted at the same age out of a bad situation. He’s now in his thirties and loves his parents dearly. He had a rough time as a kid and a teen; but they made it. So hang in there! He once shared with me that he spent the first several years after being adopted waiting for them to take him back, he couldn’t actually believe they wanted him. Years later- I didn’t even know he was adopted until we had been dating for close to a year. You’re doing an amazing thing for your child. It took eight years for the issues he’s dealing with to develop; bit now he has an amazing mom who obviously loves him. Best wishes to your family as you work through this.
Usually when stuff says it will make me cry it doesn’t not make me cry. This made me cry. That is an incredible video and it really shows what it means to be a mom. The Good, The Bad, The Ugly and the Utterly Fantastic!!
Thanks for the morning cry.
Very sweet…thanks for the touching video and yes the tears!

What’s up, its pleasant piece of writing concerning media print, we
all be aware of media is a wonderful source of facts.
Hello to every single one, it’s truly a nice for me to pay
a quick visit this web site, it includes useful Information.
There are lots of DIY ideas which you could use on those colorless
cabinets in your kitchen to bring back that sparkle. The best part about these cookers is that they are portable, don’t take much space and
run on electricity. I myself will immediately panic and go on a cabinet refacing Virginia if one
of my cabinet doors gets unhinged.
I’m more than happy to discover this web site. I wanted to thank you for
ones time for this wonderful read!! I definitely really liked every part
of it and I have you saved to fav to look at new stuff in your blog.
