GIVEAWAY: One Stokke Scoot Stroller (Value $699)
You know how every time I write a post about Instagram, you guys are like, "Oh my god, NO. Why is she talking about Instagram again? Doesn't she know we read her blog, we don't care about seeing an endless stream of photos of her kids??? I don't even belong to Instagram!!!!"
Yeah? YEAH????
Well, today's the day you say, "Alright, FINE. I'll join Instagram."
Because today is the day I'm giving away the new Stokke Scoot valued at $700.
The Scoot just debuted for Spring 2013 and is Stokke's solution for parents who want a compact lightweight stroller that still retains their "best in class" features. It's particularly useful if you live an urban on-the-go lifestyle like me. The Scoot is "easy to push, easy to fold, easy to carry away one-handed" and ideal for navigating busy streets, narrow doorways and public transit.
Some cool features are the large ventilated canopy, the higher position of the seat which keeps your baby closer to you and also works as a highchair substitute in a restaurant, and an ergonomic seat that zips down to cushion both active and rest positions.

"Well, what do I have to do to win the stroller? Tweet about it? Join your facebook page? Tell everyone I know how awesome Mommy Shorts is for giving away a stroller and then wearing a Mommy Shorts logo on my forehead for a period of one year?"
Nope, none of those things.
You just have to post the graphic below on Instagram, use the hashtag #shortsinthecity and tag/follow @stokkebaby, @mommyshorts, and @amommyinthecity.
But if you'd like to tell your friends how awesome I am, I'm not going to stop you.
For the newbies, to repost a graphic on Instagram, locate my feed (@mommyshorts) where I will have posted the above graphic, take a screenshot, and then re-upload the graphic back into instagram as a picture with "#shortsinthecity @stokkebaby @mommyshorts @amommyinthecity" as your caption. This is all done on your mobile device. Make sure to follow each of us as well.
If having the opportunity to win a stylish new stroller isn't enough to get you to join instagram, allow me to tempt you with various pictures of my children.
You'd get to see pictures of Mazzy like this:
And pictures of Harlow like this:
And even some pictures us living that "on-the-go urban lifestyle" I just claimed to have:
Ideally, I would show you pictures of my new Stokke Scoot, but that would involve yelling at my husband to open the box and put the thing together. It just arrived yesterday (thank you, Stokke!), so I'm gonna wait a day to see if he does it on his own.
Contest ends on Friday, June 21st. One winner will be selected at random. Winner must be within the US and will get their choice of a red or purple Stokke Scoot. You can repost once a day until the 21st.
Good luck!

That stroller is about as much as my rent! This looks freakin awesome for trips to the zoo – that way baby can see and I don’t have to lug them around while pushing the stroller they’re supposed to be in.
LOVE your IG feed! Girl, how many strollers you have now?! Where do you store all of them in that apartment!
I don’t need a stroller anymore (praise Baby Jesus), but I can’t pass up an opportunity to tell you how gorgeous your girls are. Geez! You’re in trouble.
Good question! We have three. Oh wait, FOUR. The Schmugaboo is in storage because we don’t know what to do with it. We use the Maclaren umbrella stroller for taking Mazzy to school but Harlow is too small for it. We’ve got the Britax B-Ready as our double stroller but I’m finding that Mazzy wants to walk now and the Britax is pretty wide for Manhattan living. Amazing how hard it is to find the perfect stroller! Especially when you spend most of your day walking, taking public transit and folding it up to put in the back of a taxi.
Boo. Does London count as the US? I guess not. Nice looking buggy though and your girls are cute enough to join even though I’m on the wrong continent for cool free stuff…
Oh gosh, did you not like your bugaboo? We just got one!
we are visiting NYC in a few months and I’d love to hear from a native with kids how to get around with them / where great places to eat with them are. Like, how do you get your kids into a taxi without carting their carseats around the city? where is a child friendly hotel/motel/airbnb etc.I’m most nervous about the NYC part of our trip because every time I’ve been there it’s been childless, and now it seems so daunting to try it with little ones!
Alexandra- I’m sure your Bugaboo is fine. We were idiots and tried to buy a used one on Craig’s List, found someone selling new ones for 1/2 the price, thought we’d struck gold and then realized we had purchased a fake. Who knew people were making fake Bugaboos??? So, any problems I have with our Bugaboo I attribute to it either not being real or not passing inspection and then getting in the wrong hands.
Here’s my post about it if you are curious: https://www.mommyshorts.com/2013/03/the-schmucks-the-schmugaboo.html
Bethany- I’ll tell you a secret if you promise not to yell at me. Taxis are considered public transportation so by law, you are not required to use a carseat in them. Most people I know will just belt their kids in or if it’s a little baby, carry them in a carrier and then belt mom and baby in together. I was really skittish about it at first but now it’s what we do if we need to use a cab. On public buses and subways, you can just have the kids stay in their strollers.
As for restaurants, hotels, etc.- what area of the city are you going to be in mainly?
that is really good to know! most likely wouldt be flying down the streets in ny, so the really terrible crashes are avoided! My brother and his boyfriend live in Bushwick, but he hasnt got the faintest idea where to stay that is suitable for us. he suggested air bnb, but all the homes seem really inappropriate for my very hand on 2 year old since they are mostly young single folks renting out a room. We are free to stay anywhere that is close-ish to a train that heads out to him…
Jeebus. You get all the good stuff. And yeah I still don’t own a stroller for my 4mo, but I’m still not joining instagram. sucks to be me.
I’ve been following you on IG for awhile and you never fail at making me laugh. I love your blog as well! This is my second stroller contest i’m entering from you and my FIFTH as of this year!! My second Stokke one as well! Hope I win, if not keep making me laugh, please! You make me want to write a blog so I can be half as funny as you are, and maybe even get some great gear for my babes. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!!
I think i did the instagram correct (fingers crossed I did) @brookelynmu

The Stokke Scoot looks amazing!!! I wouldn’t be able to sleep without setting it up, lol. My husband thinks I have a stroller obsession, he might be right!
Shared again 🙂
The stokke scoot – this stroller would be a dream at the dog park so the baby would sit up higher then most of the dogs.
