Giveaway: $250 of Olay Products
When Olay asked me to partner with them on their new Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream with SPF 30, I wasn’t sure if I should feel flattered that they think I have nice skin or worried— have they just been fooled by the beauty filter on Snapchat?
Ironically, as my face ages, I am turning the camera on myself more than ever, and as a result, getting up close and personal with all my extra lines and wrinkles in selfie mode. Aging is much easier to deny when you only look at yourself once a day in a bathroom mirror with extra good lighting.
The smile that I have always depended on in photos now comes with an added fold above my top lip. My eyelids have started to sag in the corners giving me this perpetually tired look. And I am constantly trying to relax my face to get rid of the wrinkle between my eyebrows. Retaking a shot at a different angle doesn’t make a difference. It seems to be there for good.
I follow a lot of younger people on Instagram and Snapchat and I think— why couldn’t I have been doing this back in my twenties???
I guess because none of it existed, so there’s that.
Although, it could be worse. While a lot of the things I used to do to keep myself healthy (eating more vegetables, drinking lots of water, working out) have taken a backseat to taking care of my kids (“Do as I say, kids, not as I do!”), I have always been really diligent about moisturizing my face.
I’ve also always been someone who prefers an umbrella and a book on the beach as opposed to a tan. When I was younger, I wasn’t thinking about how the sun accelerates the aging process— I just thought lying out was boring and didn’t like getting too hot. While that might not have earned me any cool points on spring break back in college, now that I’m older, nobody questions my motives.
Unfortunately, protecting myself from the sun isn’t just about lying out at the beach on the weekend. Olay challenged me to notice all the times I am exposed to the sun during my regular day.
For instance, during most of the year, I commute in the city on foot— both to my kids’ schools and then to work. I’m probably outside in the sun braving the elements for at least 45 minutes every morning.
Once I’m at work, I sit in front of a window the entire day. The sunlight is so bright, it’s almost impossible to take a good photo of my desk!
This summer, I am driving the kids to camp every morning and picking them up in the afternoon, with the glaring hot sun streaming directly through my car windshield.
Then I work out of my house at my kitchen table, again— RIGHT IN FRONT OF A WINDOW. There is also a sliding glass door directly to my left.
Also, in the summer, I am outside much more than the rest of the year. Beyond the trips to the beach, I’m pushing the kids on the swing set, checking out the garden, playing in the pool, eating outside before the sun goes down, etc. etc.
So basically, I need sun protection the entire day, every day. Since the mornings are mostly about getting the kids out the door, it’s great to have a facial moisturizer like Olay’s Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream SPF 30 that does double duty by lessening the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and protecting from harmful UVA/UBA rays.
I also love the feel of it on my skin. It absorbs quickly and is a great base before I put on foundation, another one of my beauty necessities as I get older.
Will Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream with SPF 30 turn back time and ensure I never use the beauty filter on Snapchat again? Will it stop me from taking every picture with my sunglasses on?
I make no promises. But maybe it will keep me from resorting to Photoshop.

Foundation with SPF and I wear it every day – not just on days when I go into the office 🙂 Plus, lots and lots of water.
Working on trying to find a regiment for taking better care of my skin. I still struggle with acne and will be 30 this year. I do drink lots of water.
I eat better! I changed the way I indulged in junk and out more good food into my body. I also workout to keep up with my kids!!
I drink a lot of water daily.
I am in my mid 20’s and extremely pale so I do everything I can to protect my face/skin. I wear a BB cream with SPF in it everyday instead of thick foundation and use coconut oil to remove my make-up in the evenings. This is generally followed up by a moisturizer with an added SPF.
I’m finally using moisturizer!!
HATS HATS HATS HATS and only wearing moisturizer and foundation that has SPF in it. 🙂
Olly vitamins! (points for cross promotion?)
I e gotten religious about moisturizing my 2x/day with high quality products. (Including on my neck -Egad!)
Beauty filter??? Whaaaat? Which filter is that?
Oh – and I use moisturizer everyday – but I skip the SPF a lot now sine I’m vitamin D deficient… I need the sun to help me feel a little more energetic – I just don’t stay in it often – though I do notice my lines more that I’m over 40.
I use a moisturizer with SPF daily and try to drink more water. Don’t have time for much else these days.
Actually wearing sunscreen
From a very young age my Mom and grandmother told me “Always wash your face before you go to bed”. I have been doing that since I was a teenager, even into my 20’s and 30’s after a night of partying. (My friends would always rib my about doing it at 3a!) And I always use sunscreen. I’m very fair skinned with lots of freckles. I’ve been using Olay Regenerist micro-sculpting cream for over 10 years and feel like it has really helped. I’m going to be 48 in a couple of months and people who meet me tell me they swear they thought I was in my mid-late 30’s. Wash your face, use sunscreen, and moisturize!
One Thing I’ve been doing for my skin is religiously using my new Clarisonic brush and a really good facial cleanser from Kiels.
I always wash my face at night before bed. And using an every day lotion that has spf is a must.
SPF everyday!
I exercise and use the Olay micro sculpting cream 🙂
I’ve never liked wearing sunglasses (I always feel like they don’t fit correctly). But I’m tired of squinting and am sure that’s not good for preventing wrinkles, so now I wear sunglasses.
I try to eat healthy and stay active. That means being outside in all weather so I definitely need a food moisturizer. Michigan winters can be brutal on the skin but I think the benefits of staying active are worth it 🙂
love myself more 🙂
I drink water as much as possible and moisturizer daily.
The older I get, the less I stress. 🙂 I am also much more diligent about using moisturizer though, I really wish someone had told me to start doing it as a teenager.
I want to say I drink a lot of water. But I don’t…. I drink wine, eat chocolate and hope for the best! Hence why I really need these products.
I don’t do anything. I should though.
I try to drink more water and moisturizer with spf on my face
Wearing sunscreen every day and also wearing a SPF shirt to the beach! ?
I moisturize my face in the morning and at night!
To take care of myself, I eat lots of seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables.
Lots
Of
Water!
But need a new beauty routine!
I am religious about wearing makeup & moisturizer that’s contains SPF. I didn’t have a care in the world in my teens and 20’s and I am now paying the price….I’m not liking my new freckles.
I don’t sweat the small stuff!
I wash my face and use moisturizer every day.
I drink lots of water along with using actual skin creams for my face which I never did before.
I drink as much water as possible. I am also trying to be diligent about seeing the doctor. I had an annual physical last month, for the first time in my adult life.
I drink more water and apply SPF whenever outside!
sunscreen!! Now and then I forget but I’m pretty diligent about it – and I really don’t like being in the sun anyway so I always have an umbrella with me or sit in the shade.
SPF and lot of water everyday. And a goodnight’s sleep, but wait I’m a mom so that doesn’t really happen 🙂
I am better about putting sunscreen on but that’s about it. yikes! I need this giveaway to try some products!
Since I got married last year I stopped using makeup everyday and on the weekends I put on sunscreen for our outdoor activities (something I didn’t do before). And I try to exercise more!!
Walking, water, something with SPF on my face everyday
I wear sunscreen now! When I was younger, I never did, like a moron, lol. I wanted the tan! I’m totally lazy though so I found a moisturizer with the sunscreen in it and apply that every morning. I also am really really trying to drink more water. I am not a fan but I know how amazing it is for your skin so I keep trying to convince myself to just suck it up and do it!! I also think my two year old helps me stay younger. Like last week, he’s so sweet, he squeezed his veggie pouch over my head from behind (like a ninja, mind you…I didn’t even hear him coming!). I like to think he heard about the benefits of natural products and was trying to help. That’s what I keep telling myself anyway, lol!! Thanks for the amazing opportunity!! So love new skincare products!! Keeping all my fingers and toes crossed!!!
I used to bake as a teenager in tanning beds! Ick! I now wear spf cc cream every day. I have a multitude of brown age spots already. My dermatologist told me that I have a lot of skin damage for someone my age. So I am on the hunt to reverse that with products! I also drink at least 70oz of water daily!
I use Olay Regenerist, a lot of sunscreen, and started wearing hats. Big hats. The kinds my kids can find me across the park in.
I wear moisturizer and lotion with SPF, try to drink plenty of water throughout the day, and run a few times a week.
…I stay hydrated by drinking lots and lots of water (flavored)! I avoid all sodas and I use LOTS of moisturizer; face down past the neck area! I hope to avoid the sun a little more, but I feel that the little bit that I do do will somehow repay me in kindness in the future!! 🙂
Sunscreen!
I’ve finally gotten good about wearing a moisturizer with SPF every day, and I do my best to stay in the shade during the middle of the day- we do most of our playing in the sun early in the AM (hey, the kids are up EARLY!) and in the late afternoon/evening, when it’s cooler out anyways.
Honestly I do very minimal. I’ve never worn makeup aside from mascara and eye liner, I use spf moisturizer on my face and body that’s about as far as it goes.
I am a 35 yr old single mom of an almost 4 yr old daughter. I am so tired from doing things on my own, the constant juggling act between work, daycare, and other obligations. Im sure it is showing. I have laugh lines, and crows feet. Im Irish and fair skinned so I turn red when warm and I sunburn easily. lol I use Aveeno products when I shower to make my skin feel soft and to avoid eczema flare-ups. I use Olay sensitive skin cream on my face a few times a week which helps my skin tone even out somehow. And I am drinking more water than ever to help avoid yucky stuff in soda and coffee, and flush out toxins. Id like to think this is all working, and helping energize me. My little girl deserves a happy mom. 🙂
As I’ve aged, I try to wear a hat when I’m outside for long periods and I use some kind of moisturizer with at least a 15 SPF every day.
I really do not care less if I am tan. I have the whitest legs ever and I don’t care! I am also a moisturizing FREAK 🙂 I always always always put sunscreen on the kids but I usually don’t worry about me. I will usually get my face and sometimes my shoulders (those are the only places that ever get burnt) but I really don’t bother with the rest of my body….that is also in the sun. hmmm
I stay out of the sun and wear sunscreen when I am out!
Moisturizer with spf and eye cream
I just to buy some much of any and every thing, but now, I am more about simplicity and decluttering as much as I can.
Love a moisturizer!
I don’t hang out with people that I don’t truely like! Life’s to short to be around people that don’t bring me joy.
I drink a lot of water.
Moisturizer with SPF
I’m super adamant about my 5 year old wearing sunscreen whenever we go out, but I always overlook myself. The only thing I do for myself is drink a lot of water, but my skin is always dry and dehydrated. I often overlook lotion because it’s “time consuming” and those moisturizing body washes don’t seem to work for me. Here’s hoping some Oil of Olay will do the trick!
Sunscreen for daytime and Paula’s Choice retinol cream at night. It keeps my dry skin smother and softer by turning over old dead skin cells.
I try to eat better and exercise more.
I wear mousterizer with spf and sunglasses whenever I’m outside!!!
Drink plenty of water + concealer with spf!
Sunscreen
I have no idea what I do, my skin is sensitive, acne prone and just hard to deal with so I have yet to find a good regimen. I am open to suggestions
trying to use sunscreen more
I have started drinking a healthy green smoothie for breakfast instead of my daily bagel and I now try to was the day off my face before going to sleep every night. Small steps!!
Now that I am exiting my 20’s… I use a softer pillow case and gentle cleansers. No more scrubbing layers off only to end up with more redness than I started with!
I’ve gotten much better about using sunscreen on myself (not just my little). Baby steps 🙂
I do what I can – I put sunscreen on every day even if it’s cloudy out. I stock up on samples from Sephora and other shops and try out night creams, eye creams etc. I try to drink a TON of water every day!
i don’t do much, being asian, I look a bit younger than my age but the sun spots have start setting in, so I do try and use sun block for my face. though I really need to try and drink more water
I’ve become a sunscreen fanatic. My kids are so pale, they’re practically translucent. They get lathered up in the best sunscreen possible to protect their baby soft skin. I thought, why am I not doing this to myself, too? So I do. I have way too many freckles from poor sun choices as a teenager. I’m doing what I can to minimize any further damage now, in my thirties.
Cutting back on caffeine and drinking more water, plus it’s stinking hot so more wayer is required! Always moisturizing my face a d protecting it with sunscreen.
We drink more water and have really upped our fruit and vegetable intake.
I try not to worry too much about aging, but I do stay consistent with moisturizing my face and neck at least every morning!
I wish I could hop in a time machine and tell my younger self that baby oil is NOT ok as a sunbathing tool.
I’m 41 and I have always used oil of olay products on my face. I started in my 30’s , I remembered as a young girl watching my grandmother open her pink bottle of oil of olay , moisturizing her flawless skin. She was simply beautiful to me . So I knew I had to do the same . I am a Latina so we attract the sun, I always use sunblock on my face .I want to look gorgeous for my self and my family.
i recently got into sheet masks. it’s not just about beauty, it’s about taking time out of your day even for a few minutes to pamper yourself and relax. it really helps me to center myself for the night and for the next day.
Lots of eye cream!!! (Also occasional wine and dining!)
I’ve used Oil of Olay complete daily moisturizer for years! I also recently added coconut oil to my regime. And lots of water, exercise and fruit. And laughter with friends…it might not do wonders for crow’s feet but it will definitely keep you young at heart! 🙂
Drink WAY more water. I realized how little I drank when I see my daughter guzzling it. Since it makes up 60% of our bodies I figure it’s probably a solid routine to continually replenish what I lose on a daily basis with sweat, pee, etc 🙂 Plus it really does make a difference in my skin and also just what I crave in food (usually less sweets which also seems to be good for the waistline). who knew? 🙂
As i get closer to 30, i have been trying take care of myself more. I drink a lot water, moisturizer with a high spf because with my red hair comes really fair skin. I also use a night moisturizer. And recently I have been taking vitamins as well.
