Last week, I posted a bunch of holiday cards with family photos gone wrong. So many people commented with their own amazing/horrible holiday outtakes, I had to do a second post just for them.
Turns out there are 38 more things that can go wrong when you try to submit your family to a picture perfect enough to make it to your holiday card.
What are these family holiday photo problems?
1) When your baby looks like he stole Christmas:
2) When your baby wishes he had siblings instead of pets:
3) When your baby acts like her siblings have a gun pointed in her back:
4) When your toddler is really interested in the blinking red light:
5) When Big Sis isn’t on board with the elf outfit:
7) When your daughter refuses to sit between Gramps and Grammy:
8) When you’re too busy making out to notice your kids monkeying around in the foreground:
9) When your “tangled in lights” idea isn’t nearly as cute as you imagined:
10) When a deer’s ass photobombs an otherwise usable shot:
11) When your daughter seems to have picked up the nose pinch you give yourself when you’re stressed:
12) When your baby doesn’t like your homemade Christmas fashions:
13) When you tried and failed to copy a really clever photo you saw on Pinterest:
14) When your baby is afraid of heights:
15) When your older daughter is SO OVER her litter sister:
16) When your husband is a blinker:
17) When your kids don’t understand the concept of a “framer”:
18) When nobody will take their fingers out of their mouths:
19) When your son’s smile crosses the line from cute to psychopath:
20) When your husband is about to send everyone to a Time Out:
21) Your your son won’t stop pinching your daughter’s nose:
22) When your husband just wants to get back to the Giants game:
23) When you tell your oldest to put his arms around his little brother and he looks like he is about to strangle him:
24) When you realize you are raising a comedian:
25) When nobody understands the meaning of “Joy”:
26) When you look like you keep the bodies in the basement:
27) When you have a teenager:
28) When you have a cat:
29) When your son shoves his sisters for no reason:
30) When your youngest is embarrassed to be part of the family:
31) When you tell your youngest to get his hands out of his brothers’ crotches and then he sticks his finger up his nose (and eats it):
32) When your daughter becomes the Christmas Cannibal:
33) When your son won’t stop acting like a monkey:
34) When your son has never been so bored in his life:
35) When your baby suspects his sister wears a toupee:
36) When nobody believes in Santa:
37) When everybody just gives up:
38) When you realize your life looks like a horror movie:
Just like last year, I will make a plea to all families everywhere— use your outtakes as your holiday card photos. The world would be a much better place if everyone admitted their family isn’t perfect on Christmas.

That last one is priceless. I totally LOL’d! Thanks for sharing! Happy Chanukah, Merry Christmas or Merry Yule!
Ha! I posted about my own family’s holiday card photo shoot fail on my blog yesterday and this is giving me flashbacks to that! I’d call ours “When you only get one shot where everyone looks decent–and then notice that your son is stealthily picking his nose. Whaddaya think? Should we have used it?

Yeah you totally should. Your son is cute and all four of you are looking at the camera. Winner! Happy Christmas!
What an amazing collection 🙂 And I am not just saying that because you added my little (well, not so little anymore) princess sniffing trees. 🙂 Thank you!
This is so awesome! My favorite thing ever is movie and picture “outtakes” and bloopers, and this is so funny! Kids are the best picture ruiners ever.

These are great! I have given up trying to get my three in a perfect shot at once. One always is doing his own thing. I have just been making a collage of three separate shots. At least that way I know all are smiling!
[…] time. Unfortunately, when you've got little munchkins in your family, perfectly posed pics are pretty hard to come by. You might take fifty photos before you deem one semi-acceptable. You'd take more if everyone […]
