On Friday, Laurie Ann Madison, age 6, won a place in the Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee by beating out her elementary school and middle school competitors. She will be the youngest kid to ever compete for the title.
To demonstrate Laurie's skills, Fox 5 DC pitted her against one of their reporters, who is either making himself look like an idiot on purpose or is truly the DUMBEST MAN ALIVE. Dan Quayle? Jessica Simpson? Kim Kardashian? They've got nothing on this guy, who couldn't even spell "cat" if it was written correctly on his hand.
Fox should have given Laurie a worthy competitor. How else am I gonna judge her true potential so I can start prepping Mazzy to beat her next year?
Oh that poor man.
I almost cracked up when they made her spell embarassing. Perfect.
If I were him, I would quit the station and leave the country.
The reporter’s words were easier than hers too. I couldn’t have spelled hers if I wanted to, but his were no problem. Ouch.
