A lot of people have been asking me what I think of Fergie’s new MILF Money video. I’m gonna go with it— I like it. I think it proves moms don’t automatically lose their sex appeal after having kids, a cliche I’ve always hated.
I remember a video Joseph Gordon Levitt did a few years ago that went viral. It was also about how moms are sexy. But it totally offended me because it was played as a joke. It said to me that moms are SO UNSEXY that the thought of Joesph Gordon Levitt being attracted to one (especially over the obviously sexy child-free woman) is hilarious. HAHAHAHA.
I hated that video. It was insulting. As if the varying degrees of sexiness in moms is any different than varying degrees of sexiness in the larger population of women.
Fergie’s video, while it features bodies that only about .2% of us could ever hope to achieve, shows that moms are just like all women. Some are incredibly sexy, whether they’ve had children or not. And if you can embrace your body after having kids— that has the potential to make you even sexier.
Fergie, Chrissy, Kim, Amber, all in their 30s and 40s with kids— they’ve all still got exactly what they had going on before. If not more.
Good for them.

I have never seen the JGL video before. If he meant that as a joke, then the joke is on him. Are all of the ladies in Fergies video moms? Hell if I put on spanx, a miracle bra, and maybe contour some cleavage I could be a MILF….just sayin.
I have seen the JGL video and wasn’t offended but I do see your point. He is a big feminist from interviews and seems to be a pretty stand up guy so I took that one as his misguided way of trying to say the same thing that Fergie is saying; moms can be sexy. I like that Fergie is showing some moms actually being in the mom role, even if it is hypersexualized. I love this just on the principle that it seems like once you have had children or passed a certain age, you are phased out of being sexy or dressing a certain way. Hence the video about mom shorts that is out there. I laughed a lot at that one but that is the clear expectation for women who appear to be moms. I think it is time we all display as much confidence as the milf money moms and take sexy back!
HOLY MILFS!!!! THAT IS HOOOOOT!!!! Good for them. Love it. As a mom who barely felt sexy before kids, this is so frickin empowering. I agree with Brittany, let’s put on some spanx, contour the hell out of our bodies and MILF SHAKE!!

I definitely agree that being a mom doesn’t automatically mean that you can no longer be sexy! I’m not a huge fan of super-sexy videos in general, so I’m not going to watch this on replay or anything, but I think in a world where sexy videos are the norm, it’s fantastic that there’s a video showing that mom’s can bring it just as good as anyone else.
I am all for moms being able to show they are still sexual adult women worthy of feeling attractive. I kind of am uncomfortable with the alluded-to sexiness of breastfeeding! It’s been such a fight to normalize breastfeeding in our culture, and I am not sure that this helps? Did anyone else get that message from this video????
I think I’m hotter now than I was before kids… but that may be the hormonal fluctuations that come with perimenopause… I crack myself up.
