As a creative director in advertising and the mother of an impressionable little kid, I find this video fascinating. It's a 5-year-old describing about thirty different logos, from GE ("that's where my Grampa works") to the Republican Party ("a parade outfit").
I don't think Mazzy can identify any logos yet, but the other day, she saw the Apple & Eve logo in the supermarket and asked, "Where's Big Bird?". I didn't know what she was talking about until we came home and realized the Apple & Eve juiceboxes in our fridge have pictures of Big Bird on them.
I'm sure McDonald's and Apple aren't far behind. Particularly if they form some sort of Sesame Street partnership. Elmo is nothing if not a gateway drug.
Too cute!! I remember being in the car with my 1 1/2 year old when she woke up out of a sound sleep, sat straight up and yelled “Fries!!”. We were passing McDonalds.
I’ll watch it when Steve isn’t glued to the Beach Boys on the Grammys. Anna recognized the Baby Einstein logo SUPER early, now she recognizes Mickey Mouse, Dunkin Donuts, PBS Kids (all her cartoons, really), and she knows we buy her milk with the 2 on it.
Yesterday my son yelled out “Mmmmm! McDonalds!” He’s never eaten at McDonalds.
