People always ask me how I have instilled so much confidence and independence in my two little girls. Mazzy and Harlow are both strong feisty females with unique personalities who clearly have big plans to take over the world one day. I’ve made a ton of parenting missteps in the past ten years, but so far, I seem to have gotten that part right. I think it’s partially because I always surround them with empowering messages and continually share stories about women in history who overcame obstacles to pave the way for girls today.
This month is Women’s History Month and this Sunday is International Women’s Day, so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to put together a list of games, books, clothes and gifts that every budding feminist would love to have in their Girl Power arsenal. Of course, you can be a Rebel Girl without owning a She Persisted puzzle or a Little Leaders matching game, but if you are in the market for a gift, why not buy one with a healthy dose of female empowerment?
