We tried and tried to get our holiday guide up in time for Cyber Monday, but alas, we just could not make it happen. It’s a pretty extensive list and as always, we wanted to make sure we put together the best guide possible. We’ve got gifts for kids, gifts for adults, gifts for moms, gifts for dads and gifts for everyone in between; like panda lovers and people who are fans of Harlow’s baking show.
Allie even made her wish list, which we are calling “The New Adult” holiday wish list.
In addition to Mazzy, Harlow, Jack and Neve’s current wish lists, I also included their lists from last year, because I thought it would be useful to see what the kids wanted at each age. All still valid gift ideas! It’s also worth noting that some items on their wish lists are things they want and some items are things they already have, but people continually ask me where we got them.
And to sweeten my holiday gift guide a bit, I am going to give one person a “Remarkably Average Gift Set” which includes a Mommy Shorts tote, a remarkably average mug and a signed copy of The Mommy Shorts Guide to Remarkably Average Parenting. Just tell me your favorite gift idea in the comments below!

Congratulations to Kelly G! Please email allie@mommyshorts.com to claim your prize!
I want a roomba, which I already opened and it is life changing Ha! My 7yo daughter is finally into barbies and asked for Barbie stuff. My 3yo boy asked for a “Hot Wheels track with 2 loopdy loos”
These are great lists! My Rad10 is getting a few of the things and already has some of them! :-). I would love that dinosaur chips and dip set! 😀
Thanks for putting this together! What matters most is health and happiness which sounds cheesy but is so true! With that being said, my daughter wants a puppy more than anything which will not happen so we are going with the next best thing: a robot puppy! Happy Holidays everyone!
Very awesome guide! You reminded me that I wanted to get a pistachio bowl for my hubby. And I love those food face plates! I never saw them before, but my kids are now getting them!
I love this guide every year! I went straight to Jack’s lists to get some ideas for my almost 5 year old nephew. There are a few things I think he will love.
Amazing list!! My favorites are the geode coasters and the packing cubes – I can’t pick which I like more.
In love with the pineapple roller skates!! 🍍😍
Thanks for all the great ideas!
Favorite gift idea was the frozen LEGO set in Neve’s 4 year old list! I was struggling what to get a cousin and this solved it!
My favorite is the American Girl hotel service tray mostly because I’m so tickled that it is a thing that exists. Room service for your doll so she can enjoy her pretend vacation to the fullest! Wonderful!
My favorites are definitely the dino chip holder, color wheel umbrella, and the orange carry on!
You always have the best breakdowns for gift guides! I love the palm pajamas on your list. And Yeti in my Spaghetti is my boys absolute favorite game. They are 4 and 5. I’ll be buying them the Pizza Co. game this year because what kid wouldn’t love a game about pizza right?
Whoa! This is one of the best and most organized gift guides I’ve ever seen. I am totally buying my kids the stop animation studio from Mazzy’s list. Thank you!
Rainbow coasters! Thanks for the lists, very helpful for us RAPs!
I’ve been waiting for this list because I knew it would have Panda things!! You’ve become my panda expert 🙂 Love the panda socks and who doesn’t love a panda doughnut purse?!
Great ideas! I was really struggling! I’m buying the rainbow piano and the stop animation kit!
The (un)welcome mat is hilarious!
Love this! My kids have some of these picks on their lists too. The wallet phone case is great! Adding to my list.
Great gift lists thanks for sharing. The New Adult wish list is hilarious love the ideas.
So many damn good gifts here! My boys are excited by the dog man board game. I cant wait for My book with no pictures! Also: I totally want the latte design maker or Nintendo switch!
The BOSU ball would be fun! My 5yo loves to play on them at the gym! Or any of the Kindikids or crafts.
So many good things on this list. I like the comic book maker – I think my son would enjoy it. Was nice to see some things we already have also – scooter, little feminist book, Nintendo Switch (one of the best gifts we’ve given my son!)
I **LOVE** the Gap Sequin dress from Harlow’s post! I was so jazzed to see you collaborate(and listen) with the Gap. I love how you can dress it up with sparkle shoes or dress it down with a panda hat and purse. It’s hard to find nice dresses that don’t have frills and ribbons. I still miss the Oscar De LaRenta Cape dress Harlow had. Still one of my favorite #FashionsByHarlow. You should trademark that since she did have a modeling career. Happy Holidays!!💜💜💜💜
The panda robe is perfect for my panda loving neighbor
I just ordered My Book With No Pictures- I didn’t know it existed! And I don’t know anyone but my mom who likes banana laffy taffy, and now Harlow!
I love how the lists are broken out! My absolute favorite, if I’m being completely honest is that pistachio bowl! It’s got a seperate area for shells!? While still being one bowl size so it’s easy to carry!? It’s genius!
Love this! Great unicorn ideas for my daughter! Especially the scooter attatchment!
These list are all so great. I loved the packing cubes. They are great to get and great to give.
All of Harlows 6 year old list is outstanding!
These lists are amazing !! I have kids around the same age as your kids so this is so helpful. But for me I love the come in and go away door mats and of course the face shit makeup bag, funny and practical.
These are all great and actually gave me some ideas to put on my list.
The one thing that sticks out to me is the pistachio bowl on Mike’s wishlist. That’s so something I’ll have to get my hubby. 🙂
This was among the best posts from your team it let me learn many new things.
Just ordered the dinosaur chip and dip set (for my chip loving 8 year old), dominoes (for my 10 year old) and the Pete the cat game for my almost 4 year old!! Thanks for the recommendations:)
This is a fabulous list! Love the Domino Set, the Creatable World Dolls, the Vinebox Subscription, and the Coding and Robotics kit…all things not previously on my radar and now probably ending up under our tree.
My son loves Dogman but I didn’t know there was a game! Great gift guide!
This guide was incredible. I loved it all. Thank you so much! I legit put at least 5 things in my amazon cart. My kids are boys but I have some girls to shop for and found this so helpful!! Getting the panda hat and that clay kit for my son.
Color wheel umbrella added to my wish list!
This is an amazing list! Will be great to refer to for upcoming friend birthday gifts as well. I love the Quick Knit set – my daughter wants to learn how to knit, so that would be perfect! Happy holidays, Ilana and the Mommy Shorts team!
That RBG onesie is AMAZING!
I’d also like to shout out the American Girl cookbooks. Their mostly simple recipes, but our daughter loves using them and we’ve made several delicious things using the recipes.
Nice work, Mommy Shorts!
I love that you included your nephews wish list for the past few years. My boys are 3 & 7 and there were tons of great items I hadn’t thought of- the science kits & Dog Man books will be a big hit with my oldest. I however really need that yellow fanny pack. 😉
The milk frother kit and tripod stand are in my cart!! My daughter is going to love the roller skates. So cute!!! Great lists. Thank you!!!
Great ideas – thank you! I loved the loom for my daughter. She makes them at school and I forgot she wanted one! Ordered!
Oh my gosh these lists are incredible, thank you!! Getting my mom and daughter the “wreck this journal” for sure! Plus some other amaZing finds!
I am sooooo happy you posted this!!! I needed the 9 year old gift ideas for my niece! It’s such a difficult age to shop for!
I am eyeballing that carry-on suitcase, ours did not survive Thanksgiving travel and we need to get something else for when we travel for Christmas!
Amazing list!! Packing cubes have seriously changed my life. Wreck this journal is one of my absolute favorite gifts to give. I would love the moma crystal vase for myself this year. It’s stunning.
Thank you for this amazing list. Spotted lots of stuff for my girls! My favourite is the pantone bowl set, just because I can’t resist a pretty bowl! 😊
Great list!! I felt like the items here seemed like more authentic suggestions instead of the usual “we’re paid to promote these items” lists on other blogs. I really loved the RBG onesie!!
OMG NEEEEEEEEEEEED the little feminist playing cards! (Also, the unicorn towel lol).
Such a great list! I’m definitely getting my kids the ‘My Book Without Pictures” but I also really liked the Echo Dot with clock. I didn’t know that existed!
I love the science ideas for kids!
My favorite is hands down the Jonathan Adler Rainbow Coasters. I may have to buy a set or two (so I can keep one for myself). I have found a few great ideas for my son from Jack’s list and a few ideas for my mom from your wishlist. Thanks for compiling this and including photos for the items as well.
I love the ideas on Jack’s list for a 6 yo boy. I think I am going to go with Dogman books, I think my son will enjoy them!
Far and away the best gift guide I’ve seen yet. Pistachio bowl is my favorite and already purchased. Perfect gift for my husband.
My boys will very likely receive the Dogman game – they love the books and I didn’t know the game existed! Personally, I want those Pantone bowls!
That Jayson pillow for me! I have the matching rug and have never seen the pillow until just now! Love the list!
I love the RBG onesie!!
So I’m definitely ordering the Pete the Cat math game because I’m a *cool mom.* But wow, that oil and vinegar set is a stunner (not helping my coolness, am I?).
The Palm pajamas! They are amazing!
Although I’d settle for the electric Range Rover 😂
My 8 y/o son asked for a VR headset yesterday. I love the Merge VR that you shared. It seems really durable and the price isn’t ridiculous. Thanks for the great lists!
So many great gift ideas. I love all of the crafty gift ideas for my crafty girl. I still have no idea what to get my 3yo boy.
I love the domino set for my almost 6yo son! Very g idea
These lists are great! Some many good ideas for everyone. I think my daughter is vsco all the way! But for myself it would be the AirPods as I just started my new running program. I hope you enjoy the holidays!
Love the Come in/go away door mat!
I’ve ordered the RBG action figure and the compliments pencils. I think my college students will like those when they come to meet with me. 😂
Love this all! Especially the Apple Pencil 👍🏼
Thanks Love this all! Especially the Apple Pencil 👍🏼
I was really looking forward to reading your list, and you did not disappoint!! My girls are the same ages as yours, and into alot of the same things! My favourite item on your list, was from your section, the Baby Foot feet things… So gross and amazing! I sent the link to my husband, hopefully I’ll find them in my stocking. Thank you. The fairy lights for the girls are a fun idea too…
This is great. I think my 4 year old might be getting the flippy sequins jacket! And my dad might get the oy vey socks!
Loved all these lists! So many great ideas. My favorite is the RBG collar onesie! Lol
I love the soda stream (for myself)! Loved the cardboard castle and My Book with No Pictures for my kiddos.
Good Night Rebel Girls and Sick in the Head look perfect for gifts! Your lists are amazing and super helpful for my kids, SO, and ideas for myself! So thank you for taking the time and putting it together
I love the kinetic sand! My family loves that stuff!
I love the “after this we are getting pizza” set. I actually use that bag as my 4 year olds ballet bag. It’s small enough for her to carry her ballet gear in but big enough for me to put my purse in and a blanket for her baby brother to hang out on during her class.
I mean but honestly this whole wish list is fantastic.
I really like the wireless meat thermometer! I wouldn’t have thought of that. In the future, can you make more guides for men? (I know your audience is mostly women, but a lot of women know and shop for men! Thank you!)
Live the panda doughnut purse!!
Thanks for the list!
on a side note, can you program or whatever you do to make your links, to just open to a new tab/window?
I’m 24 but I love the Edible Candy science experiment because my siblings and I would come up with edible candy on our own. It really brings back memories, and the kids I stay with will just love it! This kit with bring their love of experimentation and candy into own big learning and eating experiment!!
This list is amazing! Thank you for so many ideas. Panda onesie is one of my faves!
Thank you for these lists!! It’s so helpful to get ideas and add gifts for my boys without running all over town to shop!! My favorite item on this list is a actually for me, though! (Is that bad?!?) I’ve been in need of new luggage and after hearing about the Away products and then seeing it on your list, it’s definitely on my Christmas list now! And then I’m hoping, of course, that new luggage means more travel!
What a complete list!! I think my fave request is the Banana Laffy Taffy on Harlow’s list. Everyone knows that the banana flavor is the best.
Plus it made me remember that we talked about getting our 10-year-old son a bucket of butter mints this year. 😂
Great list! I love the Picasso tileS roll up keyboard! My sons would love great.
I like the way you organized your lists this year. My fave is the letterfolk board. We’re expecting our second child in March and this would be perfect for monthly photos!
Well done on this list! It’s awesome! I love so many things on here. The “If you can read me this, bring me coffee” socks are my favorite. I’m going back to go through the list again. I have “Secret Santa” gifts to purchase for my child’s classes and these are great suggestions. Thank you!
Love that you included pics, so wonderful! Loved the collapsible water bottle. On my list!
I started sending my husband some of these one by one, finally just sent the entire post.
I think the candy science set would be a massive hit with my son.
I’m going to just go ahead and buy the foot exfoliant for myself, I don’t think I can wait til Christmas to try it.
My favorite gift on your list is the Sew Mini Treats! I’ve been looking for fun crafty type gifts for my oldest and this was a really neat idea, I think she would love it!
I love the studio in a box. My 7 year old is obsessed with art and crafts!! I def plan on getting g her that!!
I started sending my husband some of these one by one, finally just sent the entire post.
I think the candy science set would be a massive hit with my son.
I’m going to just go ahead and buy the foot exfoliant for myself, I don’t think I can wait til Christmas to try it.
The sky umbrella and the carryon suitcase would be my top 2 items I need to add to my list! Thanks for so many options!
Love the geode coasters! I’m obsessed right now.
Already have a sticker set on our list but you did remind me I want to get a wreck this journal for my daughter as well!
Love everything on the travel list! I typically like to pick a theme for someone and put together a little basket of goodies around that theme!
My youngest would absolutely love the avocado pillow and my oldest would love the panda string art!
These are great!! Love both of Jack’s lists great ideas for my son.
So I’ve never seen a custom viewfinder and what a cool idea that is! SO neat to see something I enjoyed as a kid with a fun new twist!
