People always ask me where I store all Mazzy and Harlow’s toys in our NYC apartment. The answer is not a good one. We don’t really have a creative system figured out. We use bookshelves, bins, baskets and toy chests, pretty ineffectively if you ask me, just like everybody else.
In the absence of good solid toy storage advice, I turned to Pinterest for ideas. Don’t we all?? What I found were toy storage spaces that are both cute to look at and pretty easy to pull off. Does this mean I will make them happen? Probably not. But isn’t it nice to imagine what your toy storage could look like if you tried?
Here are just a few things you could do:
1) You could store your train under a trundle bed

2) You could store stuffed animals in a hammock

love this list!
We have tried the stuffed animals in a hammock thing….only problem is that they will throw things at the hammock in order to get the toys down! We also have an old towel rack (the kind that stands on the floor next to your shower) in one of the kid’s closets for games and coloring books. One person I knew would throw out the puzzle boxes as soon as they got them and put them immediately into a large ziploc bag with the front of the puzzle box, so that they’d store easier.
I bought an empty bean bag chair for all of my daughter’s stuffed animals. It’s comfy, but also humorous when you sit and a noisy toy starts singing. 😂
These are all fun ideas!!! I love all the crazy cool ways to decorate kids rooms now. I struggled with finding fun, functional toy storage that didn’t take up a ton of space when my son was little and we lived in a one bedroom basement apartment – so I designed my son a toy bag shaped like a monster he “fed” toys to. 8 years later, I have a booming business making those signature Mon-stors & stuffed monster toys full time! So that dilemma turned into a dream come true, haha. But I wish I had found your blog back then – would have made this single mamas life waaaaay easier. 😂
