I didn't think I was going to make a video compilation of Harlow's first year. It seemed way too time consuming and I wasn't sure I captured nearly enough footage. Plus, I set a pretty high bar with Mazzy's first year video.
But there I was, late Friday night, importing all the videos I've taken since November 15th, 2012 into iMovie and staying up until 4am.
As I started to put it together, I realized I had totally underestimated the potential of Harlow's video footage. The best clips are of Harlow and Mazzy together and once I laid the right song on top, the montage became almost a love story between the two of them.
If you are "one and done", look away. You don't need to see this. Everyone else, get out your tissues. I've seen it one hundred times and wept every time.

Harlow and I almost share a birthday! That video was the sweetest. We have 16 month old twins so it’s been fun to watch them grow and play together. Your girls are adorable. Happy birthday Harlow!!

Absolutely wonderful! My favorite parts:
-all the times sitting Harlow just goes “ploop” and falls right over
-Mazzy helping her self sit up by pushing off of Harlow’s face
-Mazzy pushing Harlow on the swing
-Harlow cracking up at Mazzy’s fake sneezes
And the total adoration in Harlow’s eyes when she looks at her big sister. What a beautiful gift for your two beautiful girls. Thanks so much for sharing!

Love this! Now it’s inspired me to do something with my daughters first year stuff. Her brothers may feel slighted but then again, I have no experience doing this so they may be glad. And I love to see Harlow’s smile and hear her laugh. Just as cute as the “glare”.
Boo made quite a few appearances as well….and I’m so glad to see that my 3 year old isn’t the only 3 year old who expresses love toward the baby in a somewhat agressive way.

Sabine, there are little add ons for your browser which help to make the vids viewable. which one are you using? I use chrome and just installed the add on for it so i can watch it.
OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG stop!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m in tears…. I just went away with both of my girls for the first time. My 15 month old and 3 1/2 (similar to your girls) & the love I saw made me want to quit my job and spend my days just watching them play or have another child. The best was when Mazzy was pushing harlow on that toy. UGHHH melted my heart!!!

Im sitting here trying to eat my dinner and now I have a huge lump in my throat…realizing my youngest is turning 2 tomorrow, I dont have anywhere near enough video or picture of him..or all my kids for that matter…How beautiful that is for you! I’ve been following your blog now for a while and love reading about your funny stories! I went back and watched the Mazzy video and it’s so funny to see – you paint a picture of your kids in your blogs and watching the differences in personality in your girls as babies, is interesting! Mazzy seems to be your wild child and she sure seemed to be bubbly as a baby. It’ll be fun to see how Harlow is when she’s Mazzy’s age. She seems very inquisitive now, with all those hilarious scowls and pure determination when defying the New York winds! Beautiful video 🙂

ah! i am 2 weeks away from my due date with #2 and my daughter is mazzy’s age. this made me extra excited for my baby’s arrival!
ahhh I never made a a video but did monthly pictures, its goes so fast. Watched this and makes me really want #2, what a beautiful family and make sme motivated to do a 2nd yr video for my son. so beautiful to see children grow, develop learn and see their beautiful families love them. Can I ask, where did you find the music and did you purchased the rights to use it? I always make photo shows for my three kids for their birthdays and then publish to YouTube and then also try to share it with my blog readers, however, now it seems impossible to find music that YouTube will allow to run in the background. I am currently putting together a show right now, and I really want to use music that YouTube won’t block.
