If there is one thing I know about new parents, it’s that every single thing their baby does is the MOST AMAZING THING EVER. I don’t care if it’s gripping a finger or drooling the shape of heart— social media must be alerted and the moment must be documented for future generations to analyze and appreciate.
That’s why it’s so appropriate to see a little baby eating solids for the very first time set to the most epic movie theme song ever made— 2001: A Space Odyssey.
I mean, what’s more epic than a baby eating his or her first taste of mashed potato?
That is, until he crawls, takes his first steps, utters his first word, pees in the potty, etc. etc. etc. I hope their family has a large catalogue of epic movie theme songs for all the follow-up videos.
To be serious for a moment, I think this video is ADORABLE. And made even more adorable by the fact that it was Grandpa who filmed and edited it together. I can say with 1000% certainly that this will totally be me as a grandparent.
Also— if my dad or stepdad had video editing abilities, life as parenting blogger would be so much easier!

I can’t remember either, but I do remember that it was from a jar/pouch…certainly didn’t have time for homemade baby food!!
