New-top-100-mom-blog-11Yesterday, a very big thing happened in Blogville. You all put on clothes, left your houses and had real life interactions instead of making out with your laptops? Close, but no.

Babble announced their Top 100 Mom Blogs.

Short story, short— guess who made the list??!!

Pioneer Woman? Dooce? Finslippy?

Well, yes, every one of those people made the list. But while they are all swilling champagne and patting themselves on the back in the top ten, I’ll be hanging out with the cool kids, darkhorses and delinquents in the back of the bus.

Yep, yours truly sneaks in at #90 (check out my fancy Babble write-up here) and while that may not sound like something to put in the family newsletter, I assure you, I couldn’t be more honored. There are so many talented bloggers out there and I am truly floored to get some recognition from the big leagues.

Thank you Babble for this awesome holiday gift.

Speaking of holiday gifts…

Our-Toy-Drive-BannerA good friend of mine created a site called “Our Toy Drive” which makes it really easy for any person, club, company, blogger (ahem) to set up their own toy drive. All you have to do is send them your logo with 10-15 links to toys on Amazon, pick from one of three charities and they’ll set up the rest.

I set up a Mommy Shorts Toy Drive and all purchased toys will go directly to Toys for Tots(Please note that none of the links featured are affiliate links and neither me nor my friend will be making any money off anything.)

If you would like to purchase a toy through the Mommy Shorts Toy Drive, THAT WOULD BE FANTASTIC and you can do so here. If you’d like to set up your own toy drive THAT WOULD ALSO BE FANTASTIC and you can find all information here.

Lastly, a big thank you to my friend for doing something worthwhile and reminding me that the holidays are about more than buying increasingly expensive variations on Elmo for my daughter.
