GIVEAWAY: 5 Boxes of Back to School Clothes from Kidbox
A few weeks ago, Mazzy, Harlow and I were invited to a party thrown by Kidbox, a seasonal subscription box for kids’ clothes. The party was to celebrate their 2nd birthday and also to bring together their “Kid Board of Directors,” a group of kids selected because they share Kidbox’s philanthropic mission of helping others and giving back.
In fact, many of them have already started non-profits of their own. Sidney Keys III (age 12) started Books N Bros Reading Club, which facilitates meet ups of 7-12yo boys to encourage literacy and bring awareness to positive African American literature. Ella R. Tyron (age 8) has made it her mission to supply children’s hospitals with enough crayons for every child patient. And you might know Naomi Wadler (age 11) from her powerful speech at the March for Our Lives Rally in DC about the disproportionate number of black women and girls who are victims of gun violence.
Mazzy became fast friends with child actress and Kidbox Ambassador, Brooklynn Prince (age 8), who you might know from her award winning role in The Florida Project. She is an advocate for the Community Hope Center, a non-profit which assists low-income, poverty level families and individuals living in and around Osceola County, Florida.
It was really an honor to have Mazzy and Harlow in a room with all of these inspiring young kids, so they could see firsthand that you don’t have to be an adult to make a difference. We also learned that Kidbox has a mission of their own called “One Box at a Time.” Their goal is to help clothe as many children in need as possible by donating one item of clothing for every box sold.
I am always looking for brands that put “doing good” at the forefront of their business practices, so I am so excited to announce that I will be partnering with Kidbox this year.
To kick off our partnership, Mazzy and Harlow got to attend a session about bullying where they learned that positive messages can impact behavior and that clothing can help spread those messages.
All the kids in the room got the opportunity to design t-shirts with slogans centered around anti-bullying. They talked through their designs with Kidbox’s Design Director and picked color swatches for them to be made into real shirts that they can wear.
This is Mazzy’s:
This is Harlow’s:
After they completed their designs, Mazzy and Harlow were whisked away into another room where they got to unbox a summer box of Kidbox clothing. Unlike some of the other kid clothing subscription services, Kidbox contains both their own brand and a variety of other high quality brands. Mazzy and Harlow’s boxes contained clothing from brands like 7 for All Mankind, Splendid, Butter and more.
And I have to say, they really NAILED both Mazzy and Harlow’s style.
They’ve been wearing their summer clothes for the past few weeks and just got their Back-to-School boxes.
Harlow was so in love with her back-to-school items, that she got mad at the term “back-to-school” and demanded to wear her new off the shoulder shirt IMMEDIATELY. You can watch her her hilarious HOT TAKE on the term “back-to-school clothes” here.
Mazzy does not love dresses but she LOVES her new “The Future is Female” t-shirt dress and has been wearing it every single day when she gets home from camp.
There also was a plethora of unicorn themed attire to make everyone happy.
In each Kidbox (which is designed specifically so that kids can color the boxes), there are also fun alphabet stickers, a few fun gifts (like a pencil case and a water bottle in the back to school box) and a newspaper called “The Scribble.” Each Scribble has a theme, with helpful articles for both parents and kids, along with a spotlight on a charities they are supporting this season.
For back to school, anyone who keeps their full box gets to choose between donating to to a charity supporting homeless families, victims of domestic abuse, or Puerto Rico relief. Kidbox’s belief is that it’s never too early to start talking to your kids about ways to give back, so they created a really easy way to involve your kids and help them figure out what causes are most important to them. In addition to helping these charities, by the end of this summer, the company is on course to donate $8.5 million in new clothing, having clothed one million kids.
There are five seasonal boxes: spring, summer, back-to-school, fall and winter. You can sign your kids up, have them take their “style quiz,” and order your back to school box here!

You can sponsor a family by providing tuition for a child and basics for the family. I’ve been to the village in zambia and found it well run and money fairly spent. Education is the key!
Make-a-Wish and Ronald McDonald House
Unravel Pediatric Cancer. The proceeds go directly to families and researchers. This allows researchers to have unrestricted access to funding their research for finding a cure for pediatric cancer! It puts the money in the hands of where it needs to be, without taking a huge percentage like other organizations may do! They also have an inspirational Mama’s Night Out gala. I encourage everyone to check it out 🙂
I love to donate to mental health awareness (NAMI) because I used to work as a fundraiser back in Mexico in one ONG like that and it’s difficult to get money because of the stigma of mental illness and because it’s not as easy as any children cause, but it’s a big cause that concerns all the family.
Make a wish and St. Jude’s
We have a local charity called The Treehouse, which teachers new moms things like financial awareness, caring for a newborn, and then also provides a small shop where moms can “purchase” gently used clothes,
Diapers, or formula in exchange for attending any of the classes offered.
Two of my favorite organizations right now that I have been donating to are Raíces and ACLU. Raíces is an organization that is currently support families that have been impacted by Donald Trump’s family separation. There are babies who have experienced so much trauma that they don’t even recognize their parents. Imagine being denied by your own child after working so hard to get them back. There are parents who have been deported and children left alone in this country. There have been children who have been adopted while their parents have fought to get them back. The fact our country can be so inhumane baffles me. ACLU fights every day for real justice. They have defended Muslims, the LGBTQ community, immigrants, and women. From the harsh policies of this government.
Thank you to you for always speaking up for what is right! I’m a caregiver for my niece, and she is just like Harlow, a fashionista. Clothes are definitely not back to school clothes to her either 😂
St Jude’s research
House of Ruth,a domestic violence charity in the Baltimore area
I always loved the Make a Wish foundation ever since they gave a cousin of mine a wish. It was for her to go ice skating in Rock Center, which melts my heart.
make a wish and st judes!

I have volunteered with and given so much time throughout my life to Habitat for Humanity! Giving families homes of their own gives so much more than just a roof over their head. And I always enjoyed getting to work side by side with the receiving family members, which makes each home dedication more personal and special. It is life changing for all!
Pediatric cancer foundation. My son doesn’t have cancer but he was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder and we spent so much time in the children’s cancer center as hematology and oncology took care of him. So they are near and dear to my heart.
My favorite children’s organization is St. Jude’s! The work they do to help children affected by cancer is amazing.
I am always inspired by Amazima Ministries. Their mission is to empower and educate the people of Uganda. When I read the stories that come from their organization I am reminded that we live in a first world country with first world problems and there are people all over the world who will go to be tonight on dirt floors with very empty stomachs and no education.

Pediatric cancer! Did you know only 4% of funding for cancer research goes to pediatric cancer? We’ve come leaps and bounds in adult cancer treatment, but we are still using chemotherapy for kids cancers from decades ago! Our children are worth more than just 4%!
We love supporting local shelters and causes! One of my personal favorites is Gilda’s Club.
I love watching your girls’ personalities shine in your posts. I have a son and daughter who are Mazzy and Harlow’s age so over the last few years I have been going through similar experiences. Your parenting honesty is refreshing. My favorite charity is the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Fund. They helped me find a team of doctors last year when I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 37. The fund and doctors have changed our lives and so many other young women in our area (Central New York). I have helped raise over $10,000 in the last year for breast cancer research. Women and men are getting diagnosed at such young ages! We need to find a cure so our girls don’t ever have to go through this. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed. Thanks for listening
We love St Jude’s!! Love this giveaway
I have to pick one?!? March of Dimes since my first was a preemie BUT also Planned Parenthood because women’s health is also very important!
I have a favorite local charity. Our Women’s and children’s Alliance helps provide shelter, clothing, and counseling to women and their children escaping domestic violence situations. They do incredible work in our community.
Make a wish and FUNDANA
We love Ronald McDonald house and wounded warrior!
Make A Wish
Project NOLA. I wish it had more support and recognition from residents here in New Orleans. We have a disconnect and distrust with our police department and local government. It gives us a little more control, limiting the ability of the government to monitor our lives too closely while still supporting them in doing their jobs to the best of their abilities.
This is just one that impacts my daily life and those of my fellow residents in a positive way, so I think of it often.
I love Ronald McDonald House Charities and have volunteered with them over the years.
The American Heart Association, after unexpected heart problems post pardum, I feel a pull to promote heart health any way I can.
Our favorite local charity is the backpack program, which sends backpacks full of food home on fridays with students who may not be able to count on a meal over the weekend!
March of dimes – I’ve seen first hand what they do!

Those kid boxes are awesome. What a wonderful cause! I’m a pediatric nurse, mama of two. My favorite one is the Fairy Godmother Foundation that was crated last year in memory of one of my patients’ who sadly passed away. It’s to help make dreams come true for those kids with medical illnesses or developmental challenges.
Love the Lou! It’s a local nonprofit here in St. Louis which is changing family trees of kids in the midst of gang activity…exposing them to life outside the city and empowering them to think for themselves and develop skills that will help them have a career and a life. ❤️

I have always just loved Make A Wish. Such a fantastic organization!
ACLU and RAICES
Our favorite charity is the Animal Humane Society.
My favorite local charity is “Backpacks for Kids”. They fill up backpacks every Friday with food for the kids in need. This gives kids food to eat through the weekend that they might not have. They also do it once a week durning the summer. My favorite not necessary local charity, is the “Firefighters Children’s Burned Center”.
So many! But Make a Wish and Ronald McDonald House❤️

I love Ruby’s Rainbow! I have a 4 year old daughter with Down syndrome and it’s so inspiring and promising that my daughter is valued and will one day have the opportunity to go to college if she would like. So many amazing young adults with Down syndrome receive scholarships for college and I’m so thankful for that organization.:)
My 2 year old daughter and husband are both Tupe 1 diabetics so we always try to donate to JFRF.
One of my favorite charities is water aid that helps provide clean water to children and families in developing countries. Water is so critical to so many aspects of life that I think we in modern countries take for granted.
Everytown for Gun Safety!
Children Cancer Charities (including St Jude and Make a Wish!)
Molly Bears. They provide teddy bears made to match the weight of still born or infant death. I have a Molly bear for my first daughter, Kamdyn, who died at 4 weeks old.
Right now Together Rising is very close to my heart as they’ve been helping pay for legal help to get the children at the border and now throughout the country back to their parents. I just can’t see myself focusing anywhere else right now. Thank you for this opportunity, Ilana! I love your girls in these super cool clothes!
National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasia (https://www.nfed.org). My youngest was born with Goltz Syndrome. I had never heard of it until we were told she had it. It is incredibly rare and we are always trying to educate people as well as get help from Congress to pass laws to help with insurance coverage.
PS: Came across your IG one day & love it! Your girls are adorable!

We have a wonderful local children’s hospital that we donate to. We also used to do Operation Christmas Child, but I keep missing the deadline. Gotta put it on my calendar this year!
My favorite charity is Ryan House in Phoenix, Arizona. It’s the first kids only inpatient hospice and respite center. I volunteered there for a while. It was heart breaking and amazing at the same time. We hold a give back party each year where our friends donate items for Ryan House.
A charity close to our hearts is “Hospital del Niño” here in San Juan, PR. It’s for children with special needs who have been abandoned by parents. The hospital hosts about @30 children full time and services @3,000 for different types of therapies.
Right now, I would say IJM or Together Rising are our two favored causes to which we are donating!
Do they do kid boxes for boys?!? My charity would be my moms homeless shelter in VA Beach – Love and Caring ministries! It’s a farm that houses homeless women and children!
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation!
Make a wish and Ronald McDonald house!.
I love NBCC. It is an amazing breast cancer centered organization
Boys and Girls Club 🙂
Right now, my favorite cause is the ACLU!
after reading these comments there are SO many amazing organizations! (I have a few of my own favorites too!) I love Birthday Wishes, which helps provide birthdays for children who are in homeless shelters. Seems sily in comparasion, but birthdays have always been special times to celebrate the unique people you love, and to a kid in a homeless shelter. I also regularly buy and donate books to little free lending libraries, as books fuel imagination and learning and are so important!
Favorite charity would have to be heifer international because they help people inneed with resources to improve their life long term not just temporarily
We donate to our school’s food pantry and the local family center. There’s a lot of need in our area so we like to keep it local.
The Ronald McDonald House!
City Harvest because this is my community, and people shouldn’t be further disadvantaged because of hunger.
Make a wish foundation – they were able to grant one of my cousins who has a congenital heart defect her wish and it was amazing to see the joy on her face and weeks after
A home within A
we love children’s hospital los angeles! our littlest (okay, he’s almost 4…but still looks like a baby) spent almost 4 months there when he was born, and they were just amazing people!!
Love this! My favorite charities are either SOCA of Texas because animals or POETIC, a nonprofit that helps sex trafficked youth recover through art therapy.
Love this giveaway!! One of my very favorite give-back organizations would have to be Veterans Tickets! They provide Active duty and veteran soldiers with free tickets to So many amazing concerts and events! It’s a great way for them to experience things they otherwise never would have been able to!
My favorite charity is local charity called Just Breathe 815 run by a friend of mine. He started it juat over a year ago to help keep local homeless teens fed and have the school supplies they need!
My favorite charity currently is my school district’s “Got Lunch” program. They work to provide food over the summer and on weekends to those students who qualify for free and reduced hot lunch. I truly believe it’s impossible to teach multiplication to hungry kids, so every little bit counts to keep food in their tummies! I work for the Laconia, NH school district.
the PAUL WALKER FOUNDATION is by far my favorite. i love that it works to help with cleaning up the ocean, saving the marine life and helping towards a cleaner environment for the sea creatures to live in.not only was it named after him but he loved marine biology and cared about sea life as wel. im working to be a marine biologist also, hopefully i can start my own foundation one day like his!
