When Mazzy was born, I couldn’t believe the doctors and nurses were willing — no, eager — to send her home with me. Those fools! Sure, I was “the mom,” but I was also the woman who still had trouble telling the front and back of a diaper apart at first glance.

I did not feel that the act of “birthing a baby” made me equipped to actually take care of that baby. In short, I had no idea what I was doing.

Don’t get me wrong, after seven years (and one Harlow) later, I still don’t have any idea what I’m doing, but at least I have the hindsight of knowing, most of us question ourselves at every turn.

Particularly in those first few months when you first become a parent.

You question everything from the clumps of your hair in the drain to the color of your baby’s poop and wonder whether it’s something to worry about or something “normal.” And now, thanks to this hilarious video from Mom Game, we know! Yes, most of it is all totally normal.

Unfortunately.
