My weekly round-up scours the internet for the best stories relevant to the preschooler set. Or at least the parents of the preschooler set. This week’s news involves a gym class workout, a selfless dad, an anti-princess and a boy who brought a clock to school.

Little Girl Explains Why She is NOT a Princess

Most little girls love being called “princess” by their dads, but JoJo is not one of them. She gives her dad a full analysis of why this particular pet name is all wrong. She may not be a princess, but she is definitely the boss!

Kids in Gym Class Work Out to ‘Whip/Nae Nae’

Just when I thought there couldn’t possibly be another variation of the “Whip/Nae Nae,” a gym teacher in Alabama filmed a kid-friendly workout routine to the song with his students. I don’t know about you, but I am totally busting out this video the next time I can’t make it to the gym.

Which is always.

Umbrella Dad Wins the Internet

A man known only as “Umbrella Dad” became an internet hero this week when his soaking wet back went viral on Reddit and Imgur. Even though he’s clearly on his way to work, he sacrificed his dryness for his child. Parents are just the best.

Baby thinks Nails Clipping is Hilarious

Most babies throw epic tantrums to avoid getting their fingernails trimmed, but this tiny babe has an even better strategy. If you giggle like crazy each time your Dad touches a finger, you’ll have him laughing so hard, he can’t complete the task. Brilliant diversion!

14yo Gets Arrested for Building a Clock

Fourteen year-old Ahmed Mohamed from Texas wanted to share his love of robotics so he built a clock in a pencil case and brought it to school to show his teachers. The school called the cops and Ahmed ended up arrested for making a fake bomb, making many wonder if the school’s actions were motivated by Ahmed’s Muslim faith. Ahmed has now vowed never to bring another invention to school. Three cheers to the educators who squashed this boy’s creativity and ingenuity! Hopefully Ahmed will rebound in spades thanks to public support and invites to both MIT and the White House. If those don’t work out, Mark Zuckerberg offered him a job at Facebook.

5yo Discovers the Joys of Lip Gloss

Five year-old Mazzy attended a NY Fashion Week event this week and tried out some lip gloss when her mom wasn’t looking. Her mother agreed it was pretty but asserted Mazzy could “absolutely under no circumstances wear it to school.” Killjoy.
