WEESPRING GIVEAWAY: One $125 Gift Basket from Munchkin and One $100 Amazon Gift Card
It's almost midnight and instead of being finished with my post and drifting off to sleep, I have just spent the past two hours combing through every item on the new baby product comparison site WeeSpring, rating my favorites, bemoaning my regrets and adding to my wish list.
WeeSpring is like a modern day consumer reports, if consumer reports were only about baby products and all written by your real life friends. Melissa Post, the founder of WeeSpring, says she created the site after reading 27 conflicting carseat reviews from complete strangers on Amazon, when all she wanted to know was which carseat her friends used and recommended.
FYI- I'm very happy with my Britax.
This reminds me of the time I walked into a Buy Buy Baby at 5 months pregnant with my first, saw the fifty foot wall full of different bottle options, started having heart palpitations and had to leave before I passed out. Who was I to know which bottle was best when I'd never had a baby?
FYI- I have two babies now. We used the Medella bottles that come with the Pump 'n Style and moved on to Advent Naturals when they required something larger.
More important than rating your favorite and least favorite baby products, you can see what your friends liked and disliked, or which baby carrier has the most likes overall (Ergo) or the most regrets (Baby Bjorn).
FYI- Personally, I'm a big fan of the Lillebaby Organic.
I also found myself fascinated with what products got the most passionate responses. For instance, Sophie (with more loves, regrets and comments than any other baby toy) is, as always, a very controversial figure.
FYI- Mazzy would have thrown her Sophie in the river if it meant more time with the Whoozit. While Harlow could suck on that rubber giraffe ALL DAY LONG. She's also a fan of the easy-to-grab Oball.
Some products seem universally loved by WeeSpring parents with tons of likes and little to no regrets, like Aden & Anais swaddle blankets, the Nosefrida, and Aquaphor.
FYI- Use them, love it like a hobby and keep a tub in every bathroom in my house.
It's also interesting to see the regrets start to amass under products I had problems with as well.
FYI- The Crane Humidifier is incredibly cute but not the greatest when it comes to humidifying. After a year, we switched to a very uncute, very grown-up Air-O-Swiss.
If you'd like to see what else I love, regret, have and want, you can join WeeSpring and check out my profile.
If you've been following my blog for 2+ years and already know what I recommend and would like to get someone else's perspective for once, check out Anna's profile from My Life and Kids who is naming her favorite toddler toys today.
The two of us have gotten together to do a big WeeSpring giveaway with two big prizes.
One lucky reader will win a $125 baby gift basket full of everything you could ever possibly want from Munchkin.
FYI- We use Munchkin Sippy Cups, the Munchkin Snack Catcher and the Munchkin Bottle Brush.
And one other reader will win a not-too-shabby $100 Amazon gift card to buy whatever baby products (or any products) they damn please.
FYI- I'd put my $100 towards the Hushamok Organic Hammock and check to see if it came in an adult-size too.
Anna convinced me to use Rafflecopter for this giveaway. She uses it and loves it and I'm friends with Anna, so I'm giving it a shot. If you also love Rafflecopter or regret that I was ever introduced to Rafflecopter or feel totally indifferent about it, in the spirit of WeeSpring (and the power of grey skull!), please let me know in the comments.
Also in the comments, tell me your biggest baby product regret. Besides the humidifer, mine's a really expensive bassinet we used for three months with Mazzy, put in storage at my dad's place for the next child and then got thrown out by accident when he moved. (FYI, only total idiots store a disassembled bassinet in a garbage bag.)
Giveaway will end Sunday June 9th. You can come back each day to retweet for extra entries. Check back here to see the winner.
UPDATE: Congratulations to Katrina Lucas (winner of the Munchkin gift basket) and Tina Lacausi (winner of the Amazon gift card!

This post was sponsored by WeeSpring but they had no input on what products I chose to feature.
Biggest regret… WIPE WARMER! Not sure who convinced us that it was necessary/a good idea/practical… The dang thing was such a waste of money, space, and effort.
I don’t have any regrets because 99% of our baby stuff was either gifted or a hand-me-down. I do regret half of the stuffed animals we now own, though. They take up SO much space!
Pffft! The crib and pack & play. Those were some of actual items I bought new and my minion NEVER freaking slept in them . I will say that the baby swing kept me from losing my $h!t and randomly junk punching my peacefully snoring hubs in his sleep !!!
EXERGEN TEMPORAL (forehead) thermometer! I tell EVERYONE to buy them!!! I’m a nurse and as soon as I use it on my patients, I tell them they need one! Doesn’t wake your baby or older kid in the middle of the night to take a temp!!! And it’s actually ACCURATE! Forget the ear thermometer. Those are a joke! You can get them at Target, Wal Mart, I’ve even heard SAMs carries them. Love that thing!
Loved all of my britax products!
Loved my Medela pump.
After breast milk, loves Similac Advance and Silac 2 after a year old.
Hated the Bjorn as much as she did!
Bumper Pad is a total waste. I was so afraid she would suffocate I pulled it out of the bed.
Didn’t like any of the expensive bottles. We used the cheap Gerber bottles and changed out nipples from Nuk style to straight when she got older. The Brown’s were a pain and Avent leaked if you put the lid on too right.
Similac 2!!! Autocorrect;)
I think my biggest regret was the Moby wrap. I’m heavy to begin with and I just didn’t feel like my daughter was ever safe in it or that I could wrap it all myself. I do love my ergo and other carriers though. Baby #2 is on the way and maybe we’ll have more luck this time.. I’m not very hopeful though.
Would love to win this stuff. 3 year old and one on the way. We have away most of his stuff thinking we were done. That’s my biggest regret.
*Gave
No big regrets, but small ones! The bumbo (she didn’t fit in it for long), the swing, easy velcro swaddlers, crappy humidifier (We ended up getting a very nice one, which we should have done right off the bat!), bassinet
Faves!: Sophie & Chan, Rock n Play (AMAZING! She slept in it by the bed for almost 3 months. Only way she’d sleep on her back!), nose frida, glowing bathtub ducks (she uses them out of the tub), jogger, ergobaby, jumperoo, aden + anais blankets for EVERYTHING.
Hmmm biggest regret…. Probably the mobile that I spent hours deciding on. It had to be fun, match her room, with no creepy animals or bugs staring at her from above. Used it for maybe a week.
I regret shelling out for a fancy organic crib matress and bedding set…. we ended up co-sleeping. Lucky for me though, the crib was free!
I regretted my Mobi wrap (my daughter FREAKED out when I tried several different ways to carry her…she only liked the cheap Walmart front carrier that was horrible for both of our posture, I’m sure!) I also regretted the wipe warmer. My husband insisted it stay on her dresser & by the time I walked from the dresser to her changing table it was cold again anyway. & it’s annoying to keep filling up. 😉
That gorgeous huge crib I just had to have, that child 1 wouldn’t sleep in, and not planning to put up with child 2.
baby #1 is still cooking… but I have a suspicion that I’m going to hate the travel system stroller I picked out… maybe I’ll just leave it in the box forever.
Ilana, are you ever going to announce a winner to this giveaway? It’s been over a month now.
Sorry! I updated with the winners who have both already been contacted and delivered their prize. I always forget to write the update on the actual post- MY BAD!
