After I posted "Daddy Skills" last week, someone alerted me to "The Parent Rap", a rap song about… well, parenting.

As I nodded along knowingly to two thirty-somethings rapping about diapers, boo-boos and Candyland, I suddenly remembered the first rap song I ever related to, way back in 1988. That, of course, would be "Parents Just Don't Understand" by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince.

Life really sneaks up on you, doesn't it? One day you're joyriding in your parents' car and the next your preschooler is dictating the playlist from the backseat. One day your mom is ordering a pizza pie for your first slumber party and the next you're cutting a single slice into fifty bite-size pieces so your toddler doesn't have a public tantrum.

I can only hope that if I live to be ninety, someone equally old will make a rap song about eating the early bird special, pocketing dinner rolls, and accidentally drinking from the cup you keep your dentures in.

Check out this hilariously well-done video from two parents who know what of they speak…

Thanks to Tiffany for the tip!
