Giveaway: Wee Gallery Stamp Set & Drawing Pads
On Tuesday mornings, Mazzy goes to a gym class where she runs around like a mental patient newly released from an asylum for about an hour. Maybe MAYBE she hangs on a parallel bar for half a second. I burn more calories chasing after her in that class than I do on one of my rarer and rarer excursions to the gym. (I'm going today— I swear!)
But at the end of the class, something happens that grinds all the kids to a halt. Previously, I thought the only thing that could possibly command such immediate attention from a roomful of one-year-olds would be Elmo arriving to give out juice pops and iPhones. But no— it's just the teacher with a plastic baggie full of rubber stamps. All the kids, Mazzy included, diligently run to the middle of the mat where they sit quietly in a circle and wait for the teacher to stamp animal shapes on the tops of their feet.
Then, for the rest of the day, Mazzy will continually rediscover her temporary tattoos and plop down on the floor to admire them.
Uh-oh. Does this mean I am in for an early tattoo phase? Is there an age of consent? I don't think I could handle Mazzy coming home with a tattoo of a pacifier, the Hideous Doll Sisters and a basket of cherry tomatoes adorned on her back. (Those are three of her current obsessions, in case that wasn't clear.) Maybe "MOM" in a heart would be acceptable…
What I'm trying to lead up to is a lovely giveaway from my new advertiser— Wee Gallery (see their pretty ad on my right sidebar?) Please check out their site— it's the brainchild of a teacher and a graphic designer (Dave and Surya, a husband and wife team) who aim to create beautiful art that is also visually stimulating for babies as they grow. They design everything from mobiles to nursery wall decals in their signature graphic style and it's all fantastic to look at. I (probably because I had Mazzy's feet on the brain) fell in love with their stamp sets. (See! I knew this would all relate somehow.)
There are three different sets— a safari set (pictured above), a garden set and a dinosaur set (winner gets their choice). Each comes in a wooden box with 3 ink pads (non toxic and washable) and 6 stamps to create your own scene. For instance, the safari set includes a lion, a giraffe, a zebra, a tree, some grass and the sun.
They are also throwing in a set of three wee drawing pads (pictured above left) so you can make your best effort to keep the stamping on paper (good luck!), for a total value of $42.
GIVEAWAY RULES
To enter, as always, you must be a Mommy Shorts facebook fan (if you are not one already, you can easily become one by clicking "like" on my right sidebar or by clicking here) and you must answer the following question:
If your kid got the tattoo of his/her choice tomorrow, what would it be? (i.e., Dora the Explorer, Annie's Cheddar Bunny Crackers, Pamela Anderson topless, etc. etc.)
In addition to the Wee Gallery site (which you're gonna check out, right?), you can also follow Wee Gallery on facebook and twitter.
I already like your FB page.
If my 7 yo could get a tattoo right now it would probably be of a cupcake or a donut.
My son would get a tattoo of a pail and shovel with the words “Digging is my life” written in script. Already a fan!
If my 4 year old daughter got a tattoo it would be of a princess a heart or a rainbow and if my two year old son got one it would definitely be of a fire truck.
My son would get a steam engine – not one of those character trains with a face on it but a regular steam engine.
My son would have the answers of tomorrow’s spelling test on his forearm. Sweet Sleeve!
probably his most powerful pokemon card character, Regigigas. Regigigas? Anyone?
My 4 yo would get a tattoo of either the Ninja Warrior logo or Lego Batman. My 2 yo- a donut.
Hands down my 5 year old daughter would get a cat and possibly wiskers on her face so she could be a cat too, its all she really wants! to be a cat!
my 7 and 4 year old daughters would get dinosaurs! they love them!! and not the big purple kind, real ones….I can’t even pronounce their names but my girls can!
Curious George eating chocolate pudding while sitting astride a blue express train as it crosses a bridge
My daughters obsessions are so fleeting I dont think she could possibly nail it down long enough to choose a tattoo.
She would get an area of her upper arm (the classy place for a womans tattoo of course) framed off where she could use a sharpie to fill in the blank and change it as often as she pleases. As of 10:09 am on 4/14 it would be a picture of Rupunzel and bubble gum.
My soon to be one year old son would easily get his crib with a huge, red ‘x’ through it on one arm and my cleavage on the other. (He’d then be scarred for life at having to look at his mamas cleave for the rest of his life. This is EXACTLY why babies shouldn’t get tats.)
Milo would have to choose between Lightning McQueen & Tow Mater.
Ella would get a big hunk of cheese. Did I tell you what she said the other day?
“Mommy, I need some money” me: why do you need some money? Ella: “So I can buy some cheese!”
My 16 month old would get a helicopter or a plane – we call him the air traffic controller at the rate he points out to all flying vehicles from the window.
Carson would definitely ink up with a lion so he could look at it and roar. Again. And again.
Thanks for the giveaway! I am a FB fan. My 10-year-old would get a tattoo of pi—hopefully just the symbol, but more likely the first 100 digits.
My 9 month-old’s current obsession is the plastic nesting easter eggs, so she’d get a multicolour assortment of them across her lower back – it’s the new “tramp stamp”.
I may be a new fan (introduced to you by MommyRants) but i’m a fan for life!
My 5 year old son would probably select a soccer or baseball motif. My 2 year old son would pick a mode of transportation (car, truck, train, jet…depends on the moment). To be honest, it’s scary to think of them selecting anything at all! I MUCH prefer the temporary sets!
Hmmm.. my seven-month old is still developing obsessions… perhaps his Boppy, or maybe a mango.
My girl would get a tattoo of her favorite thing in the world: SHOES. She’s 19 months and already obsessed with them.
Boo Boo? She would TOTALLY get a Tinkerbell tattoo just like her 65 year old Lutheran Pre-School Principal got for her 63rd birthday. 😉
My 2 year old would get a picture of either Mickey Mouse or a Dannimals smoothie!! those two are the current loves of her life! be it morning, noon or midnight, she never says no to either and has the biggest smile on her face if she gets them!
Rubber stamps, my 4 years son loves them, so much that he make tattoos with little animals all over my house, mu walls are fool of tattoos, and there’s nothing I can do. I am sure that he will have a real tattoo when he will be an adult.
Elijah would probably get a tattoo of Lightning McQueen or Mater. However, I’m not going to lie…he might get get a tattoo that says I love ______ (he could fill in the name with a washable marker) he is a total flirt and loves every waitress or young lady he meets…I’m in trouble.
I too had already “liked” your page ;o)
My son is 3 months old at the moment, and sometimes I’m convinced that he’d get those bad ass knuckle tattoos. When in fists, they’d read:
S-U-C-K O-N M-E
Say what you will, but it would be the little head of the Baby Einstein dude. My 2 yo freaking loves it.
Both my boys (7 & 4.5) would likely get tattoos of lightsabers or X-Wing fighters. Possibly the Rebel symbol b/c it’s just *so* cool. However, if I had any influence (in this fictitious scenario of course) I would want them to get a tribal arm tattoo. My lil one required a temporary one at the beach this past summer and his cuteness rating was beyond all measure. Wish I could post his pic! 🙂
my 16 month old daughter would get the words “daddy’s girl” on one arm and the likeness of her sippy cup on the other
Anna would get “I want…” tattooed on her forehead so she could then just yell “JUICE!” or “POPSICLES!” or “JUNK!” and have it delivered more expediently.
So I just decided to ask her…. she wants a reindeer, I have no idea where that is coming from!
I would like to think it would be “I Love Mommy” but more then likely it would be “I Love Noggin” because that is what is raising him.
If my kids got tattoos right now I think they would probably pick “Superman” and “hello Kitty” – I asked them and this is what they said.
BTW if Mazzy came home with a tattoo odds are it will say “DADDY” not “MOM” they end up being Daddy’s girls pretty quickly, just warnin’ ya!
I think I would have a Disney Princess bonanza on my hands with the tattoos. (Who am I kidding, my house is already a princess bonanza). Rapunzel is the current favorite. And they would fight over who got what color dress, so there would be a tattooed preschool brawl.
Lucas, 2, would get a penguin since he absolutely loves the penguin stamp he gets when he goes to the aquarium. He will show you 20 times within the same number of seconds to make sure you saw it.
My almost-11-month-old’s would definitely be a picture of my boob. But it would be a very artsy stylized version.
If your kid got the tattoo of his/her choice tomorrow, what would it be? It would be Thomas The Tank Engine, and probably all his other favourite trains from the series!
I follow you on Facebook and if my little guy got to select a tattoo tomorrow it would be a matchbox car.
I’m a FB fan!
Most definitely my 2 year old son would have a Buzz Lightyear tattoo! He’s crazy for him!
maybe batman. Or spiderman. Or buzz lightyear. Or all three, riding a rocket and shooting bullets.
Both of my kids would get sports related tattoos like their Little Dribbler’s jersey number or favorite team name. Although they might choose something related to Black Ops, some game they play on the PS3.
Zephra would have a kitty. There has never been any doubt as to the love of her life.
My 9-month old daughter is currently in love with a stuffed frog wearing a crown – so she would probably get this tattooed on her arm so he would always be with her
I’m a fb fan and I’d say right now, my daughter would probably get a cross. She loves Jesus so much. I have no doubt this would be the first thing she’d think of (she’s 5)
Dora or Diego.
I like Mommy Shorts on FB as Audrey F. and his tattoo would either be BuzzLightyear or the dog!
Dinosaurs. NO question!!
I did the mandatory entry
fb id ela islands
electricisland(at)gmail.com
hmmm…. if my son got a tattoo…. probably FREE TICKETS on his bi-ceps, as he and daddy “flex” after taking bites of food and go “GIRRR IM STRONG!”
I like on facebook (mrstinareynolds and right not it would be some kinda of scary dinosaur thanks for the chance to win eaglesforjack@gmail.com
our son would want a spongebob tat
fb fan tony l smoaks
I like on FB, and the tattoo would be legos, thanks!
I must have missed the original post – but my kids would love these. M would love a tattoo of anything pink (butterfly, flower, car, donut – doesn’t matter as long as it’s PINK). H would probably go for something manly – like Thomas the Train 🙂
Already a fan!
Probably he would have a tattoo of a flaming skull or pentagram.
He hit 17 months and decided to make a deep grunting noise whenever he is thwarted in his aims. (Which is about every five minutes.)
Seriously sounds like demonic possession.
Love Wee Gallery. Had their art cards for him when he was little. Didn’t know they offered other products.
My son (3) would get a kitty cat (he had one face painted on him the other day). My daughter is only 10 months and she would probably get her brother tattooed on her, because she loves him more than anything!
I am no doubt way too late for this and given that I have a tatt for each of my kids I would hope it is (as you said) – I love my Mum, but seriously my 4 year old would probably have bannanas in Pajammas (its an Aussie thing) and my baby would have a bottle!! Love these stamps!!
